Nothing is left for me to gain, they’re coming to take me far away//
New t-shirt design! Decided to utilize this page again now that I’ve been creating designs for my oddities shop in Chicago,
@covetoddities .
I drew this design up and had it printed here in Chicago by
@modestmerch in anticipation of the
@mudvayne show here on Sunday. Ive been a fan of Mudvayne, especially the album L.D. 50, since its release in 2000. From the very beginning, this track stood out to me. Its lyrics are not only poignant and beautifully poetic, but also written from a rarely-seen perspective: that of the perpetrator. In this case, the inspiration came from none other than notorious murderer, grave robber, and all-around macabre craftsman, Ed Gein.
With this song, Mudvayne pushed boundaries— challenging comfort zones, confronting taboos, and daring listeners to think and to feel. To me, that is what great art should do: provoke, disturb, inspire. Mudvayne achieved that then, and they continue to do so decades later. Eternal thanks to them for the soundtrack of dark thought and reflection they’ve given us. 🖤
We printed only 30 of this design (XS–3XL), available starting TODAY at 📍Covet Oddities, 3057 W Diversey Ave, Chicago. Not in Chicago? We can ship—just slide into our Covet Oddities DMs.
Hail art. Hail metal. See you at the show Sunday 🤘🏼
