Thank you for this wonderful article @archdigest written by @ingridabram . We enjoyed so much our visit by @nateberkus and @capitalone guests. It was a beautiful day with a tour of our studio and how we make our plant fibers and create our work, followed by a lunch curated by @stuckojo . We were very excited and honored to be a part of this special tour organized by @prior luxury tours. Photos by @danielseunglee For the full article visit the link in my bio.

I met David Prior quite a while ago when he was working for Alice Waters in Berkeley and I was writing a story about her. It’s been amazing to see what he has created with his curated travel company Prior World. And thanks to my editor Julie Vadnal at AD, I was fortunate to experience one of David’s trips. This one was a design journey to the Yucatán led by Nate Berkus for Capital One Entertainment. The whole thing about these trips is that you get access to special cultural experiences. We visited Angela Damman’s hennequen farm and studio, artist Javier Marin’s home in the jungle, saw the pre-Colombian ruins that inspired Frank Lloyd Wright and so much more. Thank you, David and Nate for such an incredible experience. I wrote about it for AD.com—link in story! #yucatan #mexicandesign Thank you @danielseunglee for the great photos!

Nothing is more precious to an artist than having a space where they can work. So I was impressed when Janis Provisor and Brad Davis had the vision to turn an indoor swimming pool in a Connecticut ranch house into their art studio. When @nytimes editor Julie Lasky asked if I knew of any interesting “retrofits” for an upcoming Design section, I immediately thought of the pool turned studio. Read about it in today’s New York Times—or click the link in my story. #retrofits #artstudıo #design 📸: Tony Cenicola

When a Lalanne hippo bar went for $31.4 million at Sotheby’s last December, I became curious about the woman who commissioned it–the late Houston architect Anne Schlumberger. Anne was always very private but in this story for the Texas design magazine PaperCity, I reveal how the hippo bar came to be, and other eye-opening (and often hilarious) details of Anne’s life. Thank you to Sotheby’s Jodi Pollack for her insights, Margot Romano of BOA, and especially to the PaperCity team—Holly Moore and Michelle Avina—for letting me run with it. And isn’t that such a fun cover? Link in stories. #lalanne #hippobar #designauction

I enjoyed taking on the design beat for Marion Maneker’s Wall Power newsletter for Puck. My first dispatch is a report from Salone, last week’s furniture blowout in Milan. Link in bio. Thanks to my excellent editors Marion Maneker and Mark Healy. Got an inside story or tip on the design world? Hit me. #salone #milan #design

Why not do borscht-red cabinets with pink walls in the kitchen? I loved writing about the fearless Dabito and the home he built from scratch in New Orleans. He’s so talented he not only designed it but also took the photos for the story. Read all about it in the May print issue of @archdigest and online. Thanks to @samuelcochran and @amyastley for another great assignment. #neworleans #kitchendesıgn

My favorite moments at Milan Design Week are the ones when you get a glimpse inside the city’s incredible homes. Some are historic and rented out to showcase a collection like Alcova’s setting of Villa Pestarini, a 1939 Franco Albini home open to the public for the first time, or a mid century apartment by a student of Gio Ponti, or a magnificent palazzo. Others are homes whose hosts have generously invited visitors for aperitivos or dinner. I especially love peeking in the kitchens. Here are a few homes I was lucky to visit during this year’s edition. #milandesignweek #milanstyle #milanarchitecture

Eat your heart out, Ayn Rand! Lived out my marble fantasies in Carrara this week from quarry cocktails to a sculpture class with @stephen_shaheen where we all went a bit bananas trying to sculpt fruit with chisels. A highlight was a visit to @cervietti_by_quarra where Botero, Niki de Saint Phalle, Marc Quinn and many other sculptors have created works. Plus they have the biggest collection of gypsum plaster models of classical sculpture anywhere. Now, how to get my slab home? Many thanks to @abcstone @lyndseybelle and my travel companions for this great experience. #marble #carrara #marblecarving

I loved writing about JJ Martin’s joyful new Milan “Starquarters” for her lifestyle brand La Double J— complete with a Galactic Deck on the roof that is home to a meteorite-encrusted gong. I couldn’t manifest a better assignment—my first print story for Architectural Digest. 🙏 @samuelcochran @amyastley for the opportunity—and @jjmartinmilan for the material. I’m looking forward to stopping by the Starquarters during Milan Design Week next month. As JJ likes to say: Raise Your Vibration! Link in Story. Photos by @depasquale.maffini . Growing up in Quebec we always looked forward to early spring when the maple trees were ready to be tapped for syrup. I’m grateful to see my friend Bill Hurlburt doing it right in Cornwall, CT. The syrup will be ready soon and available from his Hurlburt Farms. DM me for a hookup. Also: Moxy Fruvous 😆🍁#maplesyrup #maple #litchfield
