We’re excited to share a retrospective post highlighting Inger Flotve’s time with newpolyphonies. Inger joined us as an intern from July 2025 to January 2026, and later took on the role of curator of the Manchester Space alongside Federico Protto and Irena Radmanovic. The space not only supported her personal artistic practice but also evolved into a vibrant meeting point for other artists and diverse practices.
During her time with us, Inger performed in all the major works: the two key performances by YouYou Group – Hamel and Jubel – as well as newpolyphonies by Myriam Van Imschoot & HYOID, presented at Meakusma in Eupen. She was also part of the core team for the special performance Nocturnes for a Society at Radialsystem (Berlin) and Muziekcentrum De Bijloke (Ghent), engaging in both hosting and performing with the audience. In just half a year, she gained deep insights into the vocal art of YouYou Group and the work of Myriam Van Imschoot.
“I have discovered how the practice and togetherness of voices create these specific environments to live in—with imagination, emotion, and care. These works feel like the embrace of touching bodies, and at the same time, they open everything. I can travel both inside myself and through space—a trip to infinity and back. I am deeply moved and grateful for the open arms and kind eyes I’ve met within the YouYou Group and the newpolyphonies team.”
Inger Flotve is a dancer and performer, trained at the Oslo National Academy of the Arts, with an exchange at P.A.R.T.S. She is now entering the professional field and is eager to connect with people interested in working together.

«The choreography is modeling the behavior and dynamics of the Vortex by using a scalloping process, a repeated building up and collapsing of complex patterns. The dancers create an ensemble of cooperative relationships to move against Earth's gravitational pull.»
