DEADLINE EXTENDED: We will be choosing submissions at the weekend, so we offer you a few more days to submit a proposal. We will get back to all applicants as soon as we can - thank you for the v special offerings proposed so far. The link to the proposal form is in the bio of @bait.ball , and copied in the text below. Details from previous post: OPEN CALL: On the last weekend of June 2026, we (noĆÆ, Roya, and Kate) will host a multi-lingual gathering in Brussels, centred around poetic performance and wanting to live. We have a small budget* with which to pay four others to offer something in the realm of poetry and performance. We do not need these offerings to be finished pieces, but we would like to imagine ourselves more attached to life after experiencing them/feel that the merciless format we find ourselves in has been slightly altered. Offerings could take a ceremonial form, or be silent, disgusting, erotic, grieving, singing, clowning, involve reading, involve a request of others present, involve something else. The offering should take around 2 hours, but let us know what your ideal timings would be. Part of our criteria for choosing will be linguistic diversity, play with translation, and openness to misunderstanding. The deadline is the 2nd May. This is the link to the form to apply: https://tally.so/r/vGLjGg If you have any difficulties with using the form or have questions please email [email protected]. Big thank you to Ahmed and Jeanne at passaporta for translations, Sara Alfa for invaluable input and suggestions, and @sarasaadf for the Arabic image. *150 euros per offerer. We also have a small travel budget to support travel within Brussels.

[Reading] The Anonymous Poet Society with neneh noĆÆ, Roya Zahra Shadmand and Kate Paul Sun 18 May 2025 (16:00) @rile.books You’re invited to join us for a meeting of The Anonymous Poet Society hosted by Kate Paul, neneh noĆÆ and Roya Zahra Shadmand. An evening of anonymous readings invested in providing a space for textual and vocal play without authorship. Throughout the evening together we read aloud each other’s anonymised poetry, or other forms of writing, until all is read. The meeting will start 16h00 sharp. To participate: Writings should be 1-2 A4 pages in length. If you have a longer text, choose an excerpt or the reader may only read some of it. You can bring more than one piece but only put one on the pile at first. We can add more if numbers allow. No names on your poems/writings - utmost secrecy must be maintained. Make sure you bring a print out or other kind of paper copy of your writing so that it can be passed round, exchanged, held by someone else, untraceable to you. You can join even if you haven’t written anything. Whether you have brought writings or not, this information should be kept secret to respect the code of anonymity. All languages are welcome.

Hi, on the 28th of february, we would like to invite you for a death cafe gathering at eggspace to share poems on mourning. Come join us, if you also feel the longing for poetry and a space to nourish our grief. There will be warm drinks and light snacks. Welcome to bring your pantoffels, and drinks or nibbles to share. With Anonymous Poetry sessions we have found in past meetings that they are a v good place to play without authorship and also to play casually with voice/reading aloud. With this session we are curious to explore what anonymity does with grief. How it will work is that you can submit your poem-s/other kind of writing anonymously in the pile in eggspace any time between 6.30–8pm. We will take turns reading each other’s anonymised poetry aloud until all is read. Keep in mind that the meeting will start at 8pm sharp. No names on your poems/writings - utmost secrecy must be sustained/enacted. Writings should be 1-2 pages A4 as a length guideline - if it’s more we might need to only read some of it. You can bring more than one piece but only put one on the pile at first. We can add more if numbers allow. Make sure you bring a print out or other kind of paper copy of your writing. All languages are welcome. Session will be hosted in English. The shop is on the ground floor, but there is a single step (20cm). The width of the entrance door is 180 cm and of the restroom door 77 cm. See you there! @destroya.x @bait.ball @__eggspace
