The adventure doesn’t always have to be far away, neither in time or distance. For us this time it was just before Christmas on the other side of the boarder. Four days of skiing, camping and slowly moving through the Norwegian landscape.
Out there, it’s just the two of us. The quiet, the simplicity, the calm and being on our own. At some point, usually when the cold really sets in, we ask ourselves why we’re doing this. Sleeping outside in winter, it is a love hate relationship.
But then the morning comes, and after you’ve managed to squeeze your feet down your frozen ski boots and you see the sun rise over the mountains, all is forgiven and forgotten.
Breakfast tastes better, fingers slowly come back to life and snacks somehow fix most problems. A reminder of how little you actually need.
Thank you winter.
