One of the first places I visited while in Milan last month was the @Fornasetti Store, reimaged by @tuttobenestudio
Here are some impressions I took during my walkthrough.
“Reimagined by @tuttobenestudio , the Fornasetti Store translates the Atelier’s visual language into space, where pattern becomes architecture and surfaces become narrative, unfolding as a sequence of environments from public to intimate.
In the Stanza Architettura a sculptural trompe-l’oeil envelope by Milansese artisans @pictalabmilano defines the room, where walls, floor and plinth merge into a single monolithic gesture. Within this architectural field, selected pieces from the Fornasetti Furniture series are placed in dialogue with their surroundings. “

1. 2. “ The monumental bone-shaped bar, titled OSSA, by @DriaanClaasen , is inspired by the structure of bone and is a highlight in the animal-focused area, alongside leather stools and seating by Guideline. Artworks by Driaan Claasen @reticencestudio , @andrew_whitehouse_art , and @jjvanschalkwyk complete the scene.
3. “The flowy, ombréd hostess table by Guideline was inspired by the vegetable-dyed curtains in the garden dining room.”
4. “A striking installation, set against textured Midas Oxblood walls, frames the vegetable garden. At its centre, a black Zimbabwe stone vanity – designed by MR. (@instabymr ) and carved by Cannata @cannatagranite – serves as both sundial and tap, merging function with form.

“MR. studio and architect Jacques Mouton worked closely with Lee Rees of LRS Product Design to construct the luxurious grow tunnel - a private dining area - using Japanese scaffolding construction and luxury materials. Bronze vines made by Charles Haupt of Bronze Age grow from the ground.” @arumrestaurant

“Fleur Huijskens (left) and Nicole Boekhoorn (right) with their son, Rumi. “
“Like the subjects of John Chester’s documentary, the couple now have their own little patch of abundant life. They live in a private villa on-site with their son, Rumi, and keep a storybook cast of pets and farm animals—runner ducks, chickens, a spotted horse, Winston the Great Dane and a pig called Croissant. Over the past five
years, the farm has transformed into a regenerative agricultural paradise”

“Sterrekopje, a farm resort in the wine
lands of South Africa, was designed as a place to heal. Guests stay in thatched Cape Dutch cottages that once housed the farm’s workers and have since been painted an earthy pink and appointed with claw-footed
bathtubs, four-poster beds draped in fabric, with period details and antiques that make each space feel intimate and comfortable. “

Issue Fifty-Nine, out now.
“Issue Fifty-Nine of Kinfolk considers the meaning of “clean” as a ritual, a feeling and an instinct. If you’re starting to think about spring cleaning, you can read our longform essay, which examines how clean we really need to be; or else find solace in Dirty Habits, which turns its attention to the universal pockets of imperfection we all have—dead plants, missing mugs or a junk drawer.”

“If it sounds like a dream, it’s because
it once was. Sterrekopje belongs to Nicole
Boekhoorn, a Dutch businesswoman who, as
she tells it, one day found herself in a board
meeting back in Amsterdam discussing profit
and loss and wondering, “Is this really it?”
