"We believe housing is a human right."
This statement was just one of many beautiful words spoken by Indwell staff, community members, donors, and tenants at the newly opened Magnolia Apartments in Kitchener.
Thank you to the 180 community members who joined us to celebrate the Grand Opening of Magnolia Apartments — a beautiful new 41-unit affordable housing community created in St. Peter's Church.
This marks Indwell’s fifth location in Waterloo Region and another step forward in creating safe, supportive homes. Already, about 10 tenants have moved from St. Mark’s Place into Magnolia, a more independent program, an incredible reflection of what stable housing and support can make possible.
We’re deeply grateful to the St. Peter’s Church congregation for their generous gift of space, and to the many partners, donors, and neighbours who made this vision a reality.
Waterloo Region, we love your care for your neighbours!

The @ymcaofswo and Indwell announced today, May 15, that the YMCA’s property on Hamilton Road, the former site of the Bob Hayward YMCA, has been sold to Indwell to establish approximately 100 units of supportive housing across two developments.
The new development, part of an overall redevelopment of the Fairmont neighbourhood, will continue to support community well-being, including maintaining the property’s gymnasium for community use. A construction start is planned for 2027.
Indwell’s purchase of the property represents a continuation of our Hope and Homes for All vision, which began in London in 2019 following a 50-year history of providing supportive housing in eight communities across Ontario, including four developments in London.

🏒Hockey Helps the Homeless @hockeyhelpsca was so much fun last weekend!
Indwell is grateful to be one of the charities receiving donations from the event, alongside @london.cares and @cmhatv . Thank you to the organizers, players, sponsors, and donors that made this year's event so successful.
Nearly $200,000 was raised and will be used by the three charities to extend outreach services for people experiencing homelessness and to create more supportive, deeply affordable housing in London. 👏

"Love, dignity, and hope are all my values. I always keep my heart humble knowing that we are all created equal. Life has been more challenging for some people and because of their circumstances, traumas, and barriers they have needed more support than me. What if the shoe was on the other foot?"
These are the values that inspire Helen Fidler @helen.fidler.real.estate , one of our valued Agents for Hope. Agents for Hope are real estate professionals who have chosen to give back to those who need housing in their community by donating a portion of their sales to Indwell. We're so thankful for your support, Helen!

Today, we got to be tour guides for one of the most famous abandoned buildings in Hamilton. The Victorian Gothic ‘Century Manor’ was built in 1884 as an infirmary for the Hamilton Psych Hospital and remained in use in various forms until the 90’s. Since then, it’s become famous as a place to break in to for urban explorers (although it is not at all recommended or condoned).
Indwell’s upcoming project at this site will create 40 supportive housing studio apartments. My team is lucky to be the chosen as the architects to help lead this transformation from abandoned building to being full of light and hope. ☀️
The remediation work has recently been completed, so it was the perfect time to let 450 people - legally- visit the building and see it before the real renovations begin. Follow @invizij and @indwell.ca for progress updates.
"Since moving into Indwell, my emotions are completely different. I started to have hope again and feel like there is actually a bright future for me. For a long time, the only future I thought I might see was dark. Indwell allowed me to regain my dignity, gain more empathy and learn to love myself again."
This was just a small snippet of former Indwell tenant Ashley's story last night.
We're so grateful to her and to everyone who joined us and helped make last night's St. Thomas Hope & Homes Dinner, co-presented by Flourish, such a meaningful success.
Huge thank you to our wonderful sponsors of the evening: @invizij and @hayhoehomes , as well as Petals of Love for the lovely flowers.
Many of you gave generously towards furnishing apartments at Balaclava Crossing. If you're still considering a gift, there's still time — simply visit link in bio!

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make "Opening More Doors with Indwell" at @summitgarden Chinese Cuisine such a meaningful success. With 235 attendees coming together in the spirit of community and generosity, the evening was truly inspiring. Together we raised over $51,000 in support of Indwell and affordable housing efforts in our community.
We are especially grateful to our sponsor, Trinity Church Streetsville @trinitystreetsv — thank you for your generous support and commitment to community impact.
We're also thankful to Ken Choi, Dan Bodanis @dbbb.ca , Naguib Kerba @kerbanaguib , and especially Lisa, a Cornerstone Suites tenant who shared:
“Look at me. You’d never know I was homeless. I had nothing. No hope. No possessions. Nothing. I stand here as a healed human being and as a survivor of mental illnesses, poverty, and homelessness.”
