A lot is going on in this photo, something I normally try to avoid. But my eye is always drawn to the wave.
Doesn't handle size, but the best paddle to barrel ratio wave I have experienced.
I still remember my first trip here. We were staying at accomo that was just opened by 3 English lads living the dream @themandiribeachclub . I think this was around 2010? After years of using Tieh Ta Yao Gin (aka Chinese medicine) to clean reef cuts, I found myself in Sumatra circa 2010 without any on hand. So I used what I had instead: Dettol + water and an unused toothbrush.
You’d think scrubbing reef cuts with a toothbrush would hurt, but honestly, it doesn’t. Even better, when you surf/swim/shower, it doesn’t seep back into the wound and sting like Tieh Ta Yao Gin used to.
15-ish years later, none of my reef cuts have ever become infected. Absolute game changer if you hate the pain of limes and Chinese medicine. #indonesia #sumatra #java #sumbawa #reeftattoo
