I had an incredible time at @DandyWellington ‘s Easter Egg Strut this year! This was my first time wearing my robe a l’anglaise out on the town and I am happy with how it turned out. I’m so grateful to have met so many wonderful people— some whom I’ve known online for years and some new faces whom I plan to see again. Everyone truly looked their best and brought positive energy.
The process of making my first robe a l’anglaise has been long but so much fun. I never imagined I would be doing so much sewing by hand on a wearable item and actually enjoying it.
I’m impatient and a bit indecisive so I don’t have petticoats or a proper shift yet, and even with those made I’ll still need to add trim to the dress, make a bergere hat (I’d love a tricorn but it would go better with a different style), and make some historically appropriate shoes.
I’ve been relying heavily on @scrooppatterns and @americanduchess as my primary resources for this project, and so, so many sewing blogs and YouTubers!
