Cienan Muir @indiginerd
Cienan Muir is a Yorta Yorta, Ngarrindjeri & Taungurung man who grew up in Echuca, Shepparton and Melbourne, attending the Institute of Koori Education in Geelong for his university studies. Cienan and his partner Heidi have attended overseas comic conventions, including New York Comic Con, served as guest speakers at conventions, and even showcased some of their cosplay creations at the Melbourne Museum.
Cienan delivered the Country’s first Indigenous Comic Con in 2019, showcasing Indigenous creativity from across the Country, from the video game industry to comic books to cosplay, even attracting international guests. In the same year, Cienan created INDIGINERD, a pop culture platform that promotes Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander creativity across the industry. In 2021, he joined the Drop Bear Bytes Studio narrative team, helping to build an Indigenous storyline within their game, Broken Roads.
He has helped establish a permanent space for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander gamers at PAX, helped establish the First Nations Film Club at ACMI, and has helped deliver TTRPG programming for Big Games Night Out for the past 2 years, most recently helping to design the Game Worlds exhibition at ACMI.

Yesterday was the launch of FOLIO, a digital site of the contemporary comicbook and zine landscape in this Country, and Indiginerd has been a steering committee member helping guide it's creation.
FOLIO is not an exhaustive Comicbook database, but a collective of stories from the industry...with some pretty cool links to Comicbook too.
FOLIO aims to present Australia’s contemporary comics scene in the most accessible way, making these rare stories, and the often ephemeral works that accompany them, available for generations of Comicbook lovers and scholars.

On the 30th of November we hosted our third Mob Movie event!

With a SOLD OUT crowd of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and community, we held the Zootopia 2 Screenings in both of the vJunior suites at Village Cinemas in Plenty Valley. All 160 attendees got FREE drinks, popcorn and choc tops!

Yesterday night at @biggamesnightout our Kids On Bikes One-Shot took to the stage at @fed.square as they explored the rural town of Bendigone. There was plenty of laughs, some tears and a few swooping magpies. Thank you everyone for coming to see our game, we hope you enjoyed it!
