From a tranquil body of water to a gathering of people, landscapes contain a conversation between static and transient objects. Shot entirely on C41 analog film, at 35mm and 120mm. @couchdate is an Afro Indo Gallery in Temescal, Oakland. Founder Emmanuel Singh works with 5 artists within the Afro Indo diaspora every year, curating and showing their work - “People throw this word around, but I really mean it. The talent in the Bay Area is UNBELIEVABLE. It’s not about the money. My first @letourdefrankie and it was nothing I expected it to be. I expected it to be hot but not 110°+ hot. I expected there to be gravel but a lot of this gravel made me wish I was on a mtb. I did not expect to be bunny hopping hundreds of speed bumps nor did I expect to be chased by dogs through every single town day or night 😭 I had planned to sleep in more hotels but found myself sleeping on the side of the road, and comfortably at that. I didn’t expect to see so many people with their families cheering me on and giving me food and water as I traversed across the country. Those moments had me tearing up cause it was another sign to keep moving forward cause people fueled me and believed in me. I lost most feeling in my hands from holding myself up for 80 hours but I probably could’ve avoided that if I took longer to finish. I really wanted to accomplish my goal time of 60 hrs but I ran into a couple different mechanicals, a gearing issue and two flats. Not being able to use the last gear in my cassette really made it tough on every climb especially since they were averaging 15%-30% grade so frequently and on dirt. I walked like 2 of the biggest climbs of the trip. I bought some chanclas for the last big dirt climb and spent a cool 8 hrs walking it. It ain’t sweet but it was better than walking in road shoes for that long. I’m thankful I completed such a tough ride even with some of the limitations I ran into. I’m thankful for all the people I’ve met along the way and of course I’m thankful for everyone back home cheering me on. All those text messages I’d get when I got into town was so cute and kept my heart fired up for the next section of the race. I’m definitely coming back for another round and I’ll make sure to hit my goal time with no mechanicals! 😅

Still thinking about this day with @laaaannnndddonnnnn and @kobigyetvan Literally my favorite day of bodega run. We was really out there experiencing some of the most beautiful scenery the trip could offer.

Last night, I landed on the podium of @formulafixed qualifiers. After a few years of hesitation and having mechanicals, this year the same thing happened all over again but this time with 1st place results. I initially was riding my squid so ez but I was under geared by just a hair. Solidifying top 3 in my qualifying rounds. I tried to switch over to a lower gear asking for cogs but’s when putting my wheel back on I stripped the bolt and couldn’t lock my wheel down. I scrambled to find a bike and luckily @itdevynn had a bike same size, same fit, and surprisingly… the same exact gear I was looking to run. Im thankful it all worked out. Couldn’t have done it without all the support from everyone around me. I’m still blown away by the outcome. Cheers 🍻 📹: @adrian.andrada <- thank you for this video
