We always throw the word networking around but some don’t fully understand what it involves. For me networking looks like many things and it can take place in many ways.
Sometimes you need to build your network to achieve a certain goal and other times you just want to form better relationships within a certain community.
It’s done both online and in person.
It can look social but it can also look informative and non-glamorous.
And even tho the introvert in me would probably choose a digital meeting over a coffee meeting my mind reminds me that relationships are formed in the coffee houses and the meet-ups so networking involves building and connecting in real time.
Because networking is no one-trick-pony. You have to do the uncomfortable things sometimes. You may have to invest or involve yourself in more opportunities. And get out of your own way.
Networking is effort. Making the effort can result in opportunities you never thought you’d be given and it will open doors you thought would remain closed.

I don’t care how long I been at this, I get nervous as all get out when I have to talk about ME to ANYONE. I don’t often speak on my accomplishments, achievements or accolades enough but here is one piece of advice I would give to ANY entrepreneur: own it. Own your talent, own your purpose, own your worth. Don’t let ANYONE look down on it.
Walk into that room, into that meeting, into that roundtable and OWN IT. That is all.
Oh and one more thing... I’m doing my first panel interview tomorrow. And it’s on branding. Something I wouldn’t have been able to speak on 3 years ago. 🥲🙌
