Another wonderful night of art in the books! In partnership with Research Triangle Foundation and Durham Art Guild we took A Tour of Art in RTP featuring artists @katiehatfieldart and @inaliuart . 🖼️ 🎨   The evening kicked off at Research Triangle Foundation’s office with Ina Liu’s exhibit “Jadeite,” followed by a showcase of Triangle Community Foundation’s Artist Gallery with Katie Hatfield’s “For, Alongside, Within.”   Thanks to everyone who attended and helped make it a special evening celebrating the art in our community! You can learn more about these artists and how to purchase their work at the link in our bio. Special shoutout to @prettyaveragephotography for the amazing photos!

Carolina blue skies for the first Asian American mural in chapel hill painted by the unc community 💓 it was lovely meeting all the students and community members who came and grabbed a brush. As an artist, it was amazing to just stand back and let the community fill the walls💓 Ty @unc_aac for including me in this project and @momosmaster_chapelhill for feeding us and providing the wall. 🍵Tens of Cups🍵 In case you missed it, there is a new mural in Downtown Raleigh! Located adjacent to Union Station, the Asian joy mural was installed in late July as part of our SEEK Raleigh program. Created by Ina Liu (@inaliuart ), Isabel Lu (@iisabellu ), and Sophie Tô (@brophiebbro ) this community-driven project celebrates the experiences and joy of Asian Americans in North Carolina. It explores the intersection of Asianness and Southernness, highlighting their impact on the well-being and community of Asian Americans. Titled and symbolized by the Ten of Cups tarot card- the mural as a whole symbolizes harmony, peace, and emotional fulfillment in relationships. As part of the project, Asian American, Pacific Islander, and Native Hawaiians oral histories centered on finding joy were recorded. These stories were collected and publicly archived by the UNC Southern Oral History Program (@sohporalhistory ) 📍The mural can be found at 321 S West St, Raleigh, NC (adjacent to Raleigh Union Station at the end of West Street in downtown Raleigh). 📲 To listen to the oral histories and learn more about the artists go to raleighnc.gov and search “Asian Joy Mural” #raleigharts #raleighnc #SEEKRaleigh #SEEKRaleigh2024 #DowntownRaleigh #art #artist #ncartist #localartist #carync #durhammc #thingstodoinraleigh #supportlocalartists #publicart #mural #muralartist #artistcommunity #artistsoninstagram #artistsupport #artists #ncart #raleighartists #raleighmurals #downtownstreetery #919 #artinstallation #919life #asianjoy #asianamericanart

East or West? Acrylic on Canvas. . .reflections on navigating eastern and western medicine and the confusing path to the "right" choice. meeting in the middle can create a path forward, but the middle of a compass leads nowhere.

🍵Ten of Cups🍵 This mural is a small visual snippet of seven Asian American, Pacific Islander, and Native Hawaiian narrators’ lives, and the reflections of the three core members of the ‘Asian Joy’ team. We reflect on art as a manifestation of joy, intergenerational connections to each other, spirituality & ancestry, grassroots activism, and Southernness being our queerness, Asianness, and other identities. The Ten of Cups tarot card symbolizes harmony, peace, and emotional fulfillment in our relationships. When reflecting on the ways that our seven narrators have engaged in their communities, fostered their art practices, and connected with their ancestry, the three of us felt an overwhelming sense of calmness, belonging, and joy. Together, our ten cups are full. Thank you to ✨narrators: Grace Nichols (@tori2grace ), Lauren Bullock (@golaurenbullock ), Darany Samountry (@darlingdara ), Ravi Devarajan, Fianteluz Kuinanialoha “Kui” Rivera, N., and L. ✨partners: @raleigh_arts , @ncaat , @vaeraleigh , @durham_arts , @sohporalhistory , @uncsouth , @raleighunionstation ✨youth painters: Jacqueline H., Erin L., and Ava P. ✨transcribers: C To (@papa.c.to ) & Gelila (@gelilaambellu ) ✨ mentors: Claire Alexandre (@onlyclairity ), Bevelyn Ukah (@afioak ), Adriana Ameigh (@ameighart ) ✨our favorite he/theys, featuring Perry the mouse 🐁and Dani the mischievous blade of grass 🌱 ✨photographers Danny Peña (@pen_yah ) and Sanjé James (@moosekatt ) for capturing this incredible experience
