Travelling Images: Mi’kma’ki, was the first Canadian stop of the touring exhibition Youth United Will Never Be Defeated. 30 photos and artworks that disrupt gender norms were created and selected by 250 youth researchers in eight countries.Â

The exhibition celebrated youth researchers from Eskasoni First Nation who hosted  ongoing creative conversations with peers from Malawi, Mali, Mexico, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, South Africa, and Tanzania. This exhibit also presented research from TRANSFORM: Engaging with Youth for Social Change, a transnational project led by Dr. Claudia Mitchell from McGill University in collaboration with NSCAD faculty, Drs. April Mandrona and Joshua Schwab-Cartas.

Travelling Images: Mi’kma’ki was shown for two-weeks at the Treaty Space Gallery, and featured a series of public programs, including a Book Launch, an Authors’ Circle, an Embroidered Photographs workshop, and a harvest feast.Â
