a little over a year ago,
@onlyreesh introduced the concept of bollytekk to me. after lots of experimentation, i finished and sent him the beat for “like jalebi,” our first bollytekk song together. since then, we worked together together to develop the sound and build a community around it. over a year later, i’m so proud of how far we’ve come. not only has this sound evolved so greatly; we’ve begun a creative movement pushing our heritage forward. i can confidently say i’ve found a lane for myself, and found a community to be part of. i hope we can continue to inspire brown artists like myself to be proud of their identity and push their creative boundaries.
after a year in the making, this album is finally out for all to hear.
