Big steps for our small brand.
Time for the next chapter of Imperfect Pointes convertible ballet tights.
After three successful years, our collaboration with Swedish Stockings has come to a close. Together, we were proud to bring the world’s first sustainably made ballet tights to market — a milestone that helped define Imperfect Pointes as a globally recognised tights brand.
As the brand has grown, so has our responsibility to continually refine and improve our product. To do that properly, we needed to take full ownership of the tights’ development — from design through to production.
Moving forward, Imperfect Pointes tights are being produced independently under our own brand, working directly with one of the best Italian hosiery suppliers. This enables us to:
Build a closer technical relationship with our manufacturer - I have personally visited the factory in Milan twice before going into production.
Innovate faster in response to dancer and company feedback
Create clearer brand messaging: Imperfect Pointes tights, Made in Italy
(Feedback told us dancers loved the “Made in Italy” quality, but found it confusing alongside Swedish Stockings branding.)
We’ve been working with over 20 fantastic dancers testing out the new tights and we are excited to share more in the next few days 🎉

Our new Nutcracker is colourful, but it’s also particularly green! 💚 For some of this production’s costumes, we have switched our ballet tights to the world's most sustainable tights from @imperfectpointes . Made from recycled plastic bottles with 100% emission free production, these premium tights last up to 4 times longer and retain their colour. We will save all the tights from landfill by sending them back to Imperfect Pointes to be recycled. This is one of the ways we are working towards being more environmentally sustainable.

I started Imperfect Pointes with the belief that we are living in an imperfect world, and that you don’t need be to perfect to do ballet.

I created this piece as I journeyed through the tumultuous times following the deaths of both parents in Dec 2023 and Sept 2024. I hope those of you who come will resonate with it in some way as we have all known loss of some kind.

Testing, testing !!
Imperfect Pointes set out on a mission to make the best tights for dancers, so when we decided to relaunch and take full control of the production we knew needed to do a lot of rigorous testing.
So once we got the samples, the exciting part was enlisting a panel of 20 professional and pre professional ballet dancers to try them out and put them through their paces.
We listened to their feedback and tweaked what was needed.
We also removed the gusset and increased the size range up to XXL to make the tights more size inclusive.
Time to switch to better tights. Your legs will thank you 🙏
