A few weeks ago, I had the privilege of attending a 7-day workshop hosted by Ecobank Nigeria and the iREP International Documentary Film Festival. It was an intense, inspiring, and transformative experience, with over 100+ creatives in attendance.🥰🥰 At the end of the workshop, we were given a challenge: create a 90-second documentary about Ecobank. Over 30 participants submitted their entries and I was one of them. Yesterday, while I was in Ibadan, Oyo State, I received a message📩 that..I had been selected amongst the Top 10 finalists. At the award ceremony, they announced the winners. Ladies and gentlemen… I came out as the 2nd place winner.🏆🏆 My documentary also reached over 54,000 views on Instagram — and I’m truly grateful for every single person who watched, supported, and believed. I give all the glory to God🙇‍♂️ for this achievement. 🙌 A special thank🙏 you to @ecobank_nigeria and @irepfilmfestival for this incredible opportunity. I remember when I got started with filmmaking… I was just a confused young boy with no clear direction😩. I was still in school, trying to figure life out, but something inside me kept pulling me toward storytelling. At that time, all I had was a Tecno Spark 3 Android phone. No laptop. No professional camera. No equipment. No money. Just passion. I didn’t even understand how the film industry worked. I didn’t know anyone in it. I had no connections, no family background in film. So I turned to YouTube. That became my film school. I learned, practiced, failed, tried again… and started creating small projects with a few close friends in school. People laughed. Some mocked me. Some didn’t understand what I was trying to do. But I kept going. Today, the story is different.😊 I’m still at the beginning of my journey, but growth has happened. I’ve worked on projects, trained young creatives, and built something bigger than myself through Ipen Studios, a platform focused on creating impactful, faith-based, and inspiring content that reaches lives and tells stories that matter. And I give God🙏 all the glory. I won’t even say much yet, because there’s still so much to share about this journey. But the reason I’m writing this is simple: We’re about to start our next film project. And this time, we’re opening the door for YOU to be part of it.
