It’s been over a year since the Trump administration massively increased the scale of ICE raids occurring across the country. As conditions in detention centers worsen, deportations occur faster, and ICE operations grow more violent, it’s clearer than ever that we must look out for our neighbors. In our latest episode of “Out With It,” Family Equality CEO Darra Gordon speaks with Heidi Altman from the National Immigration Law Center (@nilc ) and Bridget Crawford from Immigration Equality (@immigrationequality ) about the unique threats LGBTQ+ immigrants face in this moment and how we can most effectively protect our communities. We also hear from Indiana-based couple Rosie and Claudia on how they’ve maintained activism in a time of lawlessness. Shirley and Jay spent 28 years together before they were allowed to marry and nine more before Shirley finally got her green card. It took time, patience, and a lot of love. It wasn’t easy, but they never gave up on each other or the future they knew they deserved. 💚 Watch the full video in our bio. #Resilience #LGBTQ #LoveWins

“Being myself was never an option.” Nelson fled Venezuela after surviving brutal violence for being gay. He left everything behind because staying meant risking his life. Asylum gave him the chance to live openly and safely. 🏳️‍🌈 His story aired on NBC4. Watch the full segment in our bio. #LGBTQ #QueerImmigrants #AsylumMatters

They want to take our rights quietly, but we’re turning the volume UP. A whistleblower exposed ICE leadership ordering unconstitutional home entries without judicial warrants. This is unlawful and unacceptable. No judge-signed warrant, no entry. Queer immigrants deserve safety. Protect each other. Share this with your loved ones. 📜✊🏽🌈

Happy holidays, everyone! I’m Al, a former client of Immigration Equality. I’m an Indigenous, queer, non-binary refugee. I came to the U.S. seeking safety after leaving Russia, where being queer is treated like a crime. Immigration Equality fought for me when I couldn’t fight for myself — with dignity, compassion, and care. That changed my life. Today, I’m a U.S. citizen, a business owner, and living openly. ✨ All donations are matched up to $30,000 through the end of 2025 ✨ Help LGBTQ and HIV-positive immigrants not just survive, but flourish. This Intersex Awareness Week we show up because bodily autonomy is universal. Intersex people have the same right as everyone else to make informed choices about their own bodies — without shame, stigma, or discrimination. This week, spread intersex visibility and demand bodily autonomy for everyone.💛💜 #WhyWeShowUp #IntersexAwarenessWeek
