After my concert, I received so many compliments on my look that I felt I wanted to share the story behind it.
My album “Roots” explores the ideas of belonging, memory, and the invisible ties that connect us to where we come from.
While preparing for the concert, I went through many outfit revisions, as I couldn’t find a look that fully expressed what I wanted to communicate. But when I discovered a young designer from Nukus,
@indiras_page , and her new collection from her brand
@_inddi_fry , I immediately felt that it was exactly what I needed for that evening.
The ornaments featured on the costumes resonate deeply with the concept of my album. In Karakalpak tradition, the diamond-shaped motif is associated with the earth, home, lineage, and continuity - a foundation that holds memory and preserves life.
The repetition of geometric patterns creates a sense of rhythm and balance, symbolizing the stability we all seek in complex and uncertain times - a quiet attempt to maintain inner structure when the world around us feels fragmented.
The angularity and strict graphic language of the ornamentation reflect the harsh climate and semi-nomadic heritage of Karakalpakstan, where self-discipline and adaptability were essential for survival.
Today, these forms also speak to the present moment - an era in which patriotism is constantly reshaped, and young people live with a persistent awareness of the possibility of immigration, while remaining emotionally connected to their roots.
These patterns are not about the past. They exist in the space in between - between home and movement, memory and choice, stability and searching. Collection of Indira perfectly expressed what I felt and I was so lucky that I was able to have my first solo concert in her wonderful kimono.
I want to sincerely thank
@indiras_page for kindly supporting me during such a special moment, and I hope that more people will discover her talent and exceptional work.
Special thanks to

@angelinausman for providing us with a studio, where we could capture the beauty of this magnificent collection and to
