As the eldest in my family and a first generation child of immigrants, asking for help was always a challenge for me. I was taught to figure it out on my own, bury my needs, and prioritize perfection at all costs. Vulnerability, seeking help, or knowing where to find guidance…I didn’t have a clue. Maybe you can relate? For me, not having a trusted mentor I could turn to for advice in pivotal moments had life-altering consequences. Missed opportunities, unnecessary stress, and all the angst associated with juggling the mental load completely alone. Although I don’t regret my journey, I often wonder if I could have saved myself at least some of the confusion, anxiety and fear if I had someone to help me navigate a life beyond the limits of my own family. What I have come to realize is that mentorship is a gift…for both the receiver and the giver. I created @rebootexperiences to offer community, guidance, and tools to help people find clarity about their next life chapter. But the greatest gift has been witnessing the positive impact ripple out in my client’s lives…weeks, months and years after working together. As it’s #mentoringmonth I partnered with @imentororg to celebrate 25 years of mentorship impact!
