Meet the Panelist for the first Diaspora Conversations: London - Caribbean Placemaking as Cultural and Economic Infrastructure Imaan Samson @imaansamson is a multifaceted digital producer and creative visionary, boldly traversing the ever-evolving landscape of combined arts with a relentless passion for experimentation and cultural storytelling. With a Webby Awards honour and South by Southwest (SXSW) nomination under his belt, his curiosity and ambition know no bounds. As founder of Recreators Agency, a forward-thinking creative agency, Imaan leads projects that bridge technology, art, and human experience. He is also the author of Inherited Light, an ongoing archive dedicated to documenting and celebrating Caribbean youth culture—a project that captures the vibrancy, resilience, and creative spirit of the diaspora through intimate storytelling and visual narratives. His work spans film production, digital art, and immersive storytelling, consistently sparking dialogues on identity, social culture, and belonging. As a trailblazer in his field, Imaan made history in 2022 as the youngest creative practitioner on StoryTrails, the UK’s largest immersive storytelling project to date. Whether crafting immersive experiences, producing thought-provoking films, or archiving cultural movements, Imaan’s practice is rooted in amplifying underrepresented voices and creating spaces where culture, memory, and innovation intersect.
