As April comes to a close, we’re looking back on a month full of meaningful moments. From Autism Acceptance Month, a time to uplift neurodiverse voices, foster understanding, and promote inclusion, to World Landscape Architecture Month, Earth Day, and Arbor Day, it’s been a time to reflect on the people, environments, and perspectives that shape our communities. Thank you to everyone who joined us in recognizing and honoring these moments.

Please join us as special guests for the annual IIT Alfred Caldwell Lecture in Landscape Architecture on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, from 5–7 p.m. in S. R. Crown Hall. The Alfred Caldwell Lecture invites speakers who, like Caldwell, hold strong positions on landscape architecture, design culture, ecology, democracy, poetry, and literature, and whose life work embodies the ethical aspirations of humanity. Through reflections on commemoration, the event brings together voices from design, food, culture, and the arts to explore the intersections of land, memory, and creative practice. The lecture will be co-hosted by Grow Greater Englewood, in partnership with their effort to enact the Englewood Agro-Eco District Grow Park and Nursery. Please share with your networks, and we look forward to seeing you there. Good food and music guaranteed!!!

Mi gente, we invite you all to our second webinar of the series "Life in the time of ICE" BE AN ADVOCATE. At a time when we see human rights being blatantly disregarded, community building becomes a political act. Immigrant America is a living and dignified part of our society whose rights must be advocated for and protected. This webinar will feature several panelists, covering different scales and calls to action, offering resources to advocate and protect the immigrant community and sparking collaboration. The goal of this webinar is to learn how to be an advocate, building acknowledgment and sharing experiences and resources, and to envision a collaborative network with ASLA chapters, affinity groups, universities and landscape architecture firms. SPEAKERS: 💥 Professor Michelle Franco, Ohio State University @michellearevalosfranco 💥 Adrian Tenney, TERREMOTO @terremoto_landscape 💥 Eric Arneson and Nahal Sohbati, Topohyla Landscape Design @topophyla REGINTRATION LINK ⬆ UNDER LINKS or use this short link: https://bit.ly/4rvpHZO @nationalasla @nyupstateasla @ilasla @asla.norcal @asla_ny @az_asla @asla_md @terremoto_landscape @topophyla @crowlandscapes @bethanyrydmark
