The best partnerships don’t happen by accident. They grow through conversation. Through presence. Through showing up where ideas are exchanged and relationships take root. We’ve been listening. As one of the largest chapters in the country, we’re choosing to lead differently—combining the reach of a big chapter with the responsiveness and care of a small one. That means more dialogue. More customization. And more intention behind every partnership. That intention shows up in everything we do: Listening Lounge. Career Night. Mentorship. Leadership Training. Student Uplift Program. Leaders Breakfast. Pioneering Design. Color Invasion. Our 2026 Sponsorship Drive is now open. If you’re seeking intentional connection and a partnership grounded in dialogue and shared growth, we invite you to join us. Explore the 2026 sponsorship package: 👉 /sponsorship Let’s talk about how we can build something meaningful together. Questions about the right sponsorship level for you? Let’s connect—Elisabeth, Robin, or Ginger.

This month, we're proud to spotlight Lauren Titsworth, Co-Chair of the IIDA NY Hazel Siegel Scholarship Committee. For the past three years, Lauren has been a driving force behind one of IIDA NY's most impactful initiatives — connecting emerging design talent to the broader New York design community and beyond. As Co-Chair, she oversees the scholarship review process and plays a key role in welcoming each new class of recipients, including opportunities to engage with the wider industry at events like the SHIFT Conference in Dallas. For Lauren, the most rewarding part of her role is simple: the students. She's inspired by the creativity and perspective each new class brings to the New York design industry — and genuinely believes the future of the profession is in great hands. Fun fact: Lauren grew up in Fort Worth, Texas, where she spent her summers working at the zoo — teaching 1st through 4th graders about habitat conservation and wildlife. Ask her about Alaskan bears. She loves them. 🐻 #IIDANY #MemberSpotlight #InteriorDesign #HazelSiegelScholarship #DesignCommunity #DesignLeadership #EmergingDesigners #Mentorship

Join us on May 21st for Pioneering Design presenting Preserving the Past, Designing the Future! New York City is a living archive. Its buildings tell the story of who we were, who we are, and who we're becoming. As the demand for housing, community space, and sustainable development grows, designers are increasingly tasked with one of the field's most compelling challenges: honoring what already exists while reimagining what it can be. Adaptive reuse isn't just a design strategy - it's a philosophy. It asks us to look at a forgotten warehouse, a shuttered factory, or an aging office tower and see not what it was, but what it could become. It challenges us to balance historic integrity with modern function, sustainability with aesthetics, and community identity with forward-thinking design. This year's Pioneering Design theme brings together interior designers, architects, and creative professionals to explore the intersection of preservation and innovation right here in New York City - one of the greatest laboratories for adaptive reuse in the world. It will help us to explore how the spaces we inherit shape the work we do, and celebrate the role today's designers play not just in honoring New York's history, but in writing the next chapter of it. @paudesign @improvolutionnyc See link in bio to register!

Recapping a powerful conversation on how B Corps are reshaping the design industry. The ideas shared at the IIDA NY panel continue to resonate. Hosted at the Humanscale showroom, “Shifting Design Toward Impact” brought together leaders who offered grounded insight into how purpose‑driven design can strengthen both impact and business performance. The discussion explored the realities of integrating equity and sustainability into the business side of design, and how organizations can move from intention to measurable action. Speakers: • Natalie Hartkopf — CEO, Hightower • Marissa Davis — Founder & Principal, Tallawah Consulting • Tara Mrowka — Architect & Director of Marketing and Sales, Alloy Moderator: • Christine Vandover — Interior Design Principal, HOK NY Thank you to Maxime De Scheemaeker of JUUNOO for helping open the evening, and to Mandy Miller for her support in organizing. Appreciation as well to Humanscale for hosting the event. A meaningful dialogue with plenty of momentum to build on. #IIDA #Bcorp #BLocalNYC #Sustainability #InteriorDesign #HOK
