What an incredible experience! I’m still buzzing from the energy at TEDxSSTX Youth this past Sunday. 🙌🏾 Standing on that stage and being able to share my thoughts on moving Forward—toward justice, equity, and collective liberation—was both humbling and empowering.
What stood out most wasn’t just the words shared but the collective spirit in the room. From every speaker, I heard visions of a future where progress is more than a buzzword, but a real, tangible thing we’re building together—one bold idea at a time. We talked about the power of technology, art, science, and activism to push boundaries, tackle global challenges, and, ultimately, shape the world we want to see.
Thank you to everyone who made this event possible and to those who shared in this journey with me. Let’s take this momentum, this energy, and keep moving Forward. The future isn’t some distant reality—it’s what we’re creating right now. 🔥

Last night, I was honored to receive the NGAN Community Organizer of the Decade Award at the Next Generation Action Network’s 10th Anniversary Gala.
This isn’t just about me—it’s about us. Ten years ago, Austin Justice Coalition was founded with nothing but a vision for radical change and the belief that our communities deserve better. No blueprint, just a commitment to fight for justice, dignity, and equity.
The past decade has been filled with victories, losses, exhaustion, and hope. We’ve mourned, organized, built, and fought relentlessly. This work is heavy, but it’s also rooted in love—a love so deep that it demands action.
I’m beyond grateful to @niquealex for building NGAN into a force for change and for recognizing the work it takes to keep pushing forward. Congratulations to @nextgenaction on 10 years of unapologetic advocacy. The movement is stronger because of you.
To @53bw58 , @puttin_out_fiya , @popecaid , and @cwilljohn —thank you for showing up and standing with me. Your support means everything. Brotherhood is the BEST hood!
This award isn’t the finish line. It’s a reminder that the work continues. There’s more to fight for, more to build, and more love to give.
Here’s to the next decade of organizing, resisting, and building.
Forward. Always.

This past Saturday, October 29th 2022, I was awarded my very own day in the City of Austin AND the 🔑 Key to the City!
I just want to say “Thank You” to each and every person that came to share this very special moment with me because as I’ve said, this moment was only possible because of each and every one of you!
To my family and friends that came from all over, to the community that trusts and allows me to fight on your behalf… I love you all, deeply! There is no me, no @austinjusticecoalition without each and every one of you. UNBUTU!

Always humbled by this.
To be nominated by The Austin Chronicle readers as “Best Activist” alongside people doing meaningful work in our city, and to see Austin Justice Coalition nominated for “Best Grassroots/Political Organization,” means a lot. Especially because so much of this work is community work. None of this happens alone.
Over the last year, we haven’t always been the loudest or the most visible. We’ve been a little quieter publicly, but behind the scenes we’ve been working relentlessly. Organizing. Building. Supporting people through crisis. Fighting policy battles. Creating strategy. Helping folks navigate systems that were never designed for them to survive.
Recognition is cool, but what matters most is that the work continues and that people feel the impact of it in real life.
Big love to everyone who has supported Austin Justice Coalition over the years, volunteered, donated, partnered with us, pulled up to actions, shared resources, trusted us with your stories, or simply believed in a different vision for this city.
And huge shoutout to @mirtosophia@handsoffcentraltx and everybody else nominated. Austin is full of people pushing for justice in different ways, and that deserves acknowledgment.
If you’d like to support, vote for us in this year’s Best of Austin. ✊🏾

Every year, @nationalbailout raises money to get moms out of jail for Mother’s Day… this year, they have a $500k goal to get as many mamas to their families this weekend as possible!
“Black people are incarcerated at nearly five times the rate of white people and, once arrested, are twice as likely to be caged before trial.
Our LGBTQ and gender-nonconforming family members are targeted and incarcerated at even more alarming rates.”
Please join us in sending them $$ this weekend!
