This year’s been a big one.
What started as an idea has turned into @fidelity.coffee becoming a genuinely special community space. I’m so proud of what we’re producing and the people who make it happen every day. The team, the conversations, the energy… It’s been pretty wild to watch it grow.
Coffee took up most of the year, but there were also some solid moments away. Trips to Melbourne, Tassie, Adelaide and Arapiles that kept things somewhat balanced.
Feeling very lucky to call the mountains home and to be part of such a supportive, thoughtful community here.
Excited for what’s next.
Paradiso, Tasman Peninsula.
Where the ocean meets stone, and silence gives way to breath and movement.
Moments of stillness between surges.
A dance between water, rock and climber.
This place pulls you in and captivates you.
Big life update!
Over the past few months, I’ve been pouring my heart into something really special — @fidelity.coffee the coffee shop I’ve opened with my good mate Aidan. We set out to create something different: a place where coffee is more than just a drink, but an experience. A space where people can explore rare and exceptional coffees, learn about the farmers behind each cup, and connect over a shared love of coffee.
One of the most rewarding parts of this journey has been getting back into design—not just the brand, but the space and the experience itself. Every detail, from the way our menu flows to how the space feels when you walk in, has been intentional.
The whole process—building the space, curating the menu, sourcing exceptional coffees and now seeing a community take shape around it—has been incredible. I’m so grateful for everyone who has supported us along the way, whether by visiting, sending kind words, or just sharing in the excitement.
If you’re ever in Katoomba, come say hi, grab a coffee, and experience what we’re all about. This is just the beginning, and I’m beyond psyched for this next life chapter.
I’m sat on the sofa with numb feet, a slight reminder that winter in the mountains hasn’t quite finished, but as the Waratahs start to bloom and cicadas hatch, spring will be here soon. A few snap shots from the last two months of winter. Endless adventures and a little bit of bush mechanics.
As winter approaches in the mountains, I’m looking back on memories from the most amazing summer. Moving to the Blue Mountains has brought climbing, trail running and bush walking to my doorstep. The never ending valleys, canyons and escarpments, glowing orange at sunset, still takes me by surprise, with their scale and beauty.
Ten days in Lutruwita/Tasmania, running through old growth forest and seeing some of the largest flowering trees on the planet. Spellbinding sunset over Wineglass Bay, after scrambling up-to the summit of Mt Amos. Multi-pitch trad climbing up the soaring Organ Pipes of Kunanyi/Mt Wellington, overlooking Hobart.
The last trip, to the spiritual home of traditional climbing in Australia, Djurid/Mount Arapiles. So many friends have talked up Arapiles, there is no way it could be as good as everyone says… how wrong I was. The perfect place to finish the perfect Southern hemisphere summer. Now time for my first European summer in 6 years… more adventures to come.
On the 22nd of February, we’re doing a trail run in the Tasmanian wilderness; to help the Bob Brown Foundation protect Australia’s largest temperate rainforest from logging and mining.
It’s up to people like you and me, to play our part in protecting wild places such as Takayna. Please donate to the Takayna Trail challenge in the link in my bio. Any help is very much appreciated!
For the last two months The Blue Mountains had been home, which means every free day has been spent climbing, hiking and exploring all that this beautiful landscape has to offer.
Has some pretty humbling experiences on the rock and have learnt heaps. Now looking forward to spring and more days getting out there.
All the best Mondays are spent climbing with mates 🌞
Selection of photos from my last session at the Maclean crag, before heading down to the Blue Mountains, for a couple months of chilly winter rock climbing. Epic send off, with a load of crew from @climbingjungle
Going though a lot of change in life at the moment, with moving house and leaving my job to pursue a new career. So felt perfect to slowdown for the day and spend it climbing with a bunch of legends.
Clear skies, cool weather and world class rock, means an epic weekend of climbing in the Blue Mountains. Thanks @julianreinhold_photography for showing us all the best crags and great teacher.
