U.S. weapons have enabled Israel’s oppression of Palestinians for decades. For just as long, establishment politicians and Jewish institutions have claimed that bombs, walls, and repression will keep our people safe.
But we know how disastrous this strategy is. The Israeli military has devastated Gaza, massacring at least 72,000 Palestinians in the past three years. West Bank settler violence is surging, Trump and Netanyahu launched brutal wars in Iran and Lebanon, and our Jewish communities aren’t any safer.
A new communal conversation is long overdue.
As Jews who want safety, justice, and equality for all, we know that there’s another way. Together, we must move beyond the violent status quo and envision a different future. That means grappling with the billions of dollars in weapons that the U.S. sends to Israel each year.
On May 19th, Join IfNotNow’s Executive Director Morriah Kaplan, along with Kohenet Shoshana A Brown, @blackjewishliberation Co-founder, @daniel.biss , Democratic nominee for Illinois’s 9th Congressional District, and @indivisibleteam Executive Director, Leah Greenberg, for a rigorous discussion on blocking U.S. weapons to Israel and building a thriving future for all.

HAPPENING NOW - Israeli Occupation Forces are raiding Basel Adra’s home once again.
This is what apartheid looks like. When a foreign military can enter any Palestinian home at any point. When Israeli occupation forces trample on Palestinian rights and dignity without justification.
This is what happens in Masafer Yatta every day.
Please speak up, and demand an end to brutal Israeli apartheid.
The Nakba of 1948 is a defining moment in Palestinian history, marking the displacement of a large part of the Palestinian population during the conflict surrounding the creation of Israel. For Palestinians, it represents more than a political event; it is a deep collective memory passed down through generations. Entire villages were emptied, families were separated, and many people were forced to seek refuge in different regions, leaving behind homes, land, and a way of life that had existed for centuries.
Even after many decades, the impact of the Nakba is still present in the lives of Palestinians. It is reflected in refugee camps, in stories shared by elders, and in the continued longing for return and justice. Despite these hardships, Palestinians have shown remarkable resilience, preserving their identity through education, culture, and strong community ties. The memory of the Nakba continues to shape their determination to seek dignity, peace, and stability.
Today, the Nakba is also a reminder of the importance of human rights and the need to protect the dignity of all people, regardless of their background or nationality. It encourages reflection on history while also looking forward to a future built on understanding and coexistence.

How does Israel maintain control over the Palestinian economy? Sam Bahour (The Palestinian Policy Network) breaks down how military checkpoints, control over water and electricity, land confiscation, and restrictions on infrastructure make Palestinian economic self-sufficiency nearly impossible. He explains why staying and building businesses under occupation is itself a form of daily resistance. Comments promoting violence or vulgarity will be deleted.

Rutgers alumnus Rami Elghandour—a business leader, engineer, and human rights advocate—was scheduled to deliver the convocation speech for the engineering class of 2026 @rutgersu on May 15. But two weeks before he was scheduled to speak, the university canceled his speech because of his social media posts criticizing Israel’s genocide in Gaza.
Universities should be protecting freedom of speech on campus, not censoring students and alumni for speaking out against a repressive foreign government like Israel. Everyone has the right to speak up, especially when they see injustice.
Rami was speaking out against a genocide, something the majority of Americans are horrified by, and millions of American college students have spoken out against.
Students are calling on the Rutgers Dean of Engineering to demand the university allow Rami to speak.

The Jewish Future Demands NOT ANOTHER BOMB
@jewishcurrentsmag just announced our new campaign - ready to get involved?
U.S. weapons have enabled Israel’s oppression of Palestinians for decades. For just as long, establishment politicians and Jewish institutions have claimed that bombs, walls, and repression woul d keep our people safe.
But the last few years have shown us just how disastrous this strategy is: The Israeli military has devastated Gaza, West Bank settler violence is surging, Trump and Netanyahu launched brutal wars in Iran and Lebanon, and our Jewish communities aren’t any safer.
A new communal conversation is long overdue.
As Jews who want safety, justice, and equality for all, we know that there’s another way. Together, we must move beyond the violent status quo and envision a different future — for Israelis and Palestinians, for our neighbors and ourselves. That means grappling with the billions of dollars in weapons that the U.S. sends to Israel each year.

She feels the movement of her child for the first time…
a small reminder that life is growing inside her.
A life that depends on her for everything.
But her body is weak.
Not because she isn’t strong — but because she has been deprived of what every human being deserves: food, care, dignity.
Hunger doesn’t wait for birth.
It reaches into the earliest stages of life, shaping a child before they even enter the world.
It steals nutrients from the mother, and with them, the strength her baby needs to survive.
This is the reality for millions of women.
Carrying life while battling starvation.
Holding hope in one hand… and fear in the other.
Will her baby be born healthy?
Will she have the strength to deliver safely?
Will this life she is nurturing get a fair chance?
These are not questions any mother should have to ask.
At PalHumanity, we stand at this fragile intersection —
where a mother’s survival and a child’s future are deeply connected.
Through our perinatal work, we provide care, support, and the basic human right of health and nourishment.
Because saving a life doesn’t begin at birth.
It begins in the quiet, unseen moments —
in the womb, in the struggle, in the hope that refuses to fade.
Every mother deserves strength.
Every child deserves a beginning filled with possibility — not pain.
