In a cowardly move that he waited until late on Friday afternoon to announce, Colorado’s Democratic governor is commuting the sentence of a Trump ally who was convicted for tampering with election equipment as part of Trump’s Big Lie. This is a stunning betrayal of our democracy. Jared Polis just sent a message to every MAGA minion that they can escape accountability for tampering with our elections if they have enough political backing to get away with it. It’s incredibly harmful for a Democrat to validate the election conspiracy theories we’ve spent years fighting against. It is especially shameful for Polis to make this decision as Trump is demanding a $1.7 billion slush fund to cut checks to convicted January 6 insurrectionists. Authoritarians don’t stop trying to erode democracy just because you kiss the ring. Jared Polis’ decision has failed Colorado and our democracy.

Two Senate Democrats voted with the GOP to advance a bill that serves the billionaires and bad actors at the center of today’s crypto chaos. The CLARITY Act is disguised as “crypto regulation,” but this bill doesn’t protect consumers, close money laundering loopholes, or do anything to stop the biggest threat of all: Trump’s crypto-fueled bribery machine. The CLARITY Act would only help Trump, billionaires, and foreign governments profit at our expense. Contact your senators and demand that they vote NO.
ICYMI: Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib @reprashida introduced the Ban Warehouse Detention Act drafted in partnership with @DetentionWatch , which would prohibit the Department of Homeland Security, including ICE, from establishing, operating, expanding, converting, or renovating any warehouse or similar building or structure for the purposes of detaining people. The bill would also prevent the administration from establishing any new immigrant detention models.

With the legal barriers to racist gerrymandering torn down, it’s up to us to use our organizing power to defend and reclaim the sacred rights those before us bled and died for.
If Democrats flip even one chamber Congress, they can put a stop to funding nonsense like this. The good news? People are pissed. The bad news? Anger alone doesn’t automatically translate into votes.
If we want to take back Congress, it’s going to take all of us talking to people in our lives — especially in key swing districts. Republicans are already trying to lock in more seats across the South, so this is very much an all-hands-on-deck moment.
