ALEXANDRA SHABO
Alexandra creates music that moves across genres, with improvisation at its core. Blending voice and digital technology, her work explores both harmony and tension in expansive soundscapes.
Early material testing for the studio.
I’ve always loved stone cottages with slate roofs and how ivy and other plants make them blend into the landscape. My hope is to bring some of that feeling into the new studio.
Trying to find combinations that are both aesthetically strong and acoustically effective. And to bring more natural materials into the space.
The idea is to work with vertical sections of black slate tiles (around 3 meters), spaced out and mounted over acoustic treatment. And on top of the black slate tiles, green plants.
In a way, it’s about recreating a tiled roof, but vertically, inside a music studio.
There’s also a balance to figure out between blue, orange, black and white and how those colors can interact with wood and concrete.
This is one direction I’m exploring for the future of the space. Would love to hear your thought and ideas!
