As part of my project “Through Thread I Render”, which explores the intersection between digital design and traditional textile handcrafts, responding to the residency theme “Boundaries and Frictions” by working in the space between two worlds:
⟢ Digital precision vs. handmade irregularity
⟢ Computer-based design systems vs. physical, tactile craft
From a distance, these works will look like crisp digital images. Up close, the wool textures and the “imperfections” of the handmade process. This shift in perception creates a dialogue between the digital representation and the physical textile.
The series will unfold in 4 textile works, each blurring the line between the digital and the crafted object — questioning how traditional handcraft can evolve alongside new digital tools, bringing the two into dialogue.
