WACK presents the AYOKA set’
Official release May 3rd, 2026.
In an era where systems continue to work against marginalized communities, this is our small contribution toward preserving our sanity and protecting the identity of our existence as Africans, particularly as Nigerians.
At a time when global capitalism and industrial production continue to appropriate and replicate our indigenous textiles, prints, swag and aesthetics, we are witnessing yet another form of economic and cultural colonialism.
In response, we stand with a movement that began long before us, led by those who fought to preserve the integrity and relevance of our textile traditions. Our intention is to continue strengthening and legitimizing this cultural language within contemporary fashion, ensuring that industrial imitation can never replace the richness and diversity of our local textile heritage.
It is from this consciousness that we introduce “AYOKA, a series featuring barrel pants and retro jerseys crafted from handwoven Aso Oke, locally produced in Nigeria.
Through this work, we continue to reclaim, rewrite and stamp our narrative, carrying our pride, identity and culture forward on our own terms.
This is not just clothing.
A reminder.
That our story is still here.We just have to choose it.
