@tatiwest is an Olympic Silver metalist!
It took me some time to really soak in this incredible accomplishment by Tati.
I met Tati when she was 17, in the parking lot during the US Open. From that point on we began a working relationship that grew into a deeper relationship that I cherish.
Early on I knew Tati wasn’t your typical young female surfer. She is special. She is driven and has a never ending passion to become the best she can be. She helps to push and elevate female surfing. There’s no hidden agenda with her and she is not a quitter.
Outside of surfing, she is a loving and caring person. She very honest and open. She wants people to succeed. Her faith in God has grown and this has helped her become the beautiful person she is.
I don’t think most people understand that it takes more than talent to be a successful athlete. Everything you do outside of your sport also contributes to your success.
When I saw her on the Olympic podium I didn’t just see the success of the event in Tahiti. I saw 10 years of a woman who has gone through so much growth in and out of the water. I see a woman who can stand there and be happy with her journey and be humbly thankful that God has blessed her life.
Congratulations Tati you make me and those close to you very proud.

What a great opportunity to surf for a championship title. It's waves like this that shows she is leading women's surfing. What a great way to end the season.
@gregsworld and @rosswilliamshawaii a huge thank you and are a big reason for this woman's growth. Her family and friends that also provide her with the love and encouragement when the rash guard is on or off. Lastly, @jesse_mendes support as a husband and best friend to help inspire her and to be there for all things.

Very proud of @kei_kobayashi for this accomplishment. Winning in in my childhood hometown too!
Kei's a hard worker with a very positive attitude. Known as a weapon in smaller conditions but he's pushing his surfing into the bigger waves. I am enjoying watching his growth as a surfer and a person.
