This is the third track from my upcoming Queer Country album releasing June 12, and the oldest song on the record. I originally wrote this bop in 2018 for a queer women’s rugby musical.
A lot of life has happened since then, but I knew it needed one last go-round as a country tune. And here it is!

Two years ago, I released my first-ever studio album, “Orientation.”
This album is the by-product of saying “yes” to new experiences, including joining an online singer-songwriter group and writing a song a week to one-word prompts.
This album also represents a new creative journey for me as a songwriter, one I’m continuing to pursue that’s helping me evolve as a storyteller, artist and person.
And of course, May 2 is my wedding anniversary with my incredible wife, Megan. It’s hard to imagine being on this journey without her inspiration, foundation, and love.
Reflecting on this anniversary is a chance to reflect on how far I’ve come since then too. I’ve packed a lot of life into the last two years. Can’t wait to see what’s up next.
“Orientation” was recorded at @riverrockstudios and features @ericjblomquist as the engineer, @icombs@abdelgarderon@kevini33 as the band, and @sarahmorrismusic on background vocals peppered throughout the album. I’m so lucky to know each and every one of you, and appreciate you helping me bring this to life.
