Today’s #microphonemonday is an EXTREMELY rare Sony dynamic mic from the 80’s. The F-V300 looks a lot like a C38 or C48, but inside it’s a suspended capsule cardioid mic with a sound that has more in common with a Sennheiser MD409 or 421. In my guitar amp shootout against a bunch of other dynamics, I thought it was closest to the vintage MD408, but with a nicer top end and more bass response. It’s also pretty cute with the “it’s a Sony!” stickers on the front, back, and screen printed on the vinyl box. This one came with the original twist ties on the cable, leading me to believe it was almost never used prior to me getting my hands on it.
We couldn’t be more stoked to share our second album with y’all. We recorded at @icfstudio in Austin Texas with Matt Parmenter and had mastering done with Nick Landis @biigniick This one has so many true stories some will make you laugh some will make your cry. The physical copies should be back any day now stay tuned for digital release date and we have 2-3 album release shows In the works!!! Including one June 9th @thelonesomerose
