8mm Cinematography for @tillyvickerswillis - "In My Body"
Massive thank you to @jyomiyaji & @tillyvickerswillis for bringing me on board to shoot this project on 8mm Film. Although I'd never previously worked with 8mm, I fixed an old 70's era 8mm camera that had been gifted to me 9 years ago.
Without knowing whether the camera would work or not, we spent a few afternoons having laughs, messing around & shooting B-roll to eventually piece this clip together. What I loved most about this project was watching these candid memories I spent with Jyo, Tilly & the band from late 2025 - early 2026 come back to life on 8mm throughout this run & gun style shoot.
Working with Tilly and Jyo has been inspiring on so many levels for me and I have so much respect for them not just as artists, but as my friends.

Featuring original artwork by Eleanor and Mick, including handwritten Mudburra language which was subsequently scanned and processed via CRT.
More on this later, but for now enjoy a small excerpt from the project 🖤 Congrats to both Eleanor and Mick on their headline performance!

I’m incredibly honoured to have my latest film headline the 2025 National Indigenous Music Awards (NIMA's) for the incredible @eleanorjawurlngali & Mick Turner during the world premiere of 'Alice Rising'
Just under two weeks ago, I was approached by Eleanor and legendary producer @dean_tuza who asked me to create a visualizer for this year’s headline performance at the NIMA's, interpreted entirely in my own style. Being given full creative freedom on a national stage is a rare and deeply meaningful opportunity.
Both Eleanor and Mick Turner worked on the artwork for this project seen as part of the visualizer on stage, including handwritten Mudburra language from the hands of Eleanor who breathes life into this beautiful track.
With limited time, I pulled together a small, talented team to help execute their combined vision. I’m proud to say we’ve just wrapped what I consider one of the most rewarding projects of my career so far.
Huge thank you to @dean_tuza for bringing me on board, your passion and integrity are a testament to all the hard work you put in behind the scenes for us. Congratulations to all the incredible talent and crew from @the.nimas and a big thank you to @youtube for hosting and recording our work on the big screen.

Ever seen a 3D Film Photo? 📸 Developed around the 1950's, early 3D camera models went mostly unnoticed by the general public due to lack of publicity. By 1980 they made a resurgence due to advancements in electronic camera systems, making them easier to use and more accessible. Eventually the fad died out due to the novelty aspect. Every now and again though, you'll still see remnants of this unconventional style... Suffice to say, it remains a fun gimmick to test out.
I remember watching the Mura Masa 'Lovesick' video back when I was studying film years and seeing this 3D technique applied for the first time, it felt like magic. Before I knew it, I'd already bought an old 3D camera from the 80's to test myself in a pursuit to replicate the effect. Using multiple lenses built into the camera body (3 in this instance) after taking a photo, each lens exposes a half slide of 35mm film. After layering, compositing & editing each of the 3 photos, the picture 'comes to life' creating the iconic 3D effect.
What originally began as a video experiment, quickly transcended into a deep passion for film photography. Although I've moved onto using other cameras & formats less trivial, I picked up a lifelong hobby that still sticks with me to this day. As a creative, I often think about legacy and the papertrail I'll leave behind someday. For some this often means fame, fortune and 'success'. For others like me, it's simply about creating art that stands the test of time - capturing moments that live timeless.
Something a little different to my usual film work here! From time-to-time, I think it's important to dabble in a little experimentation, especially if it opens the possibility of evolving into another form of artistic expression. 👏

Incredibly grateful to have worked on this beautiful music video for Jyo and Tilly who have created an spectacular kaleidoscope of memories for you all to enjoy.
With the help of @chapps.thecaveman we were able to successfully create scans which I have further degraded & altered including a full colour sweep. The aim was to develop stronger visual cohesion between the various contrasts of footage depicted.
Thankyou to @_pheltmagazine for premiering our work. Visit their website for an in-depth article about the creation and meaning behind the video / song
I have space available in May for bookings! Send me a message or email for all film enquiries 📌
