I have a little pin on the @globalactplan map. Hopefully I can play a small part in their Good Life Schools Programme's mission to create system change.

Lovely to see some new (familiar) faces at our forest school session this afternoon. And of course the stalwart regulars 🌞❤️
Some quotes from today:
🌲🌲🌲"This looks like Norway & Scandinavia" 🇩🇰🇧🇻🇸🇪
📍💬"You have a South Yorkshire accent" 💬📍
🏴 "That is Wales" (when I attempted a Swedish accent)
🚗 "They are like the car wash" (pine branches) 🫧
🪵 "That bark looks like a shirt" 👔
‼️"I don't want to kill the ants standing on them" 🐜 ☕ "Can I have another hot chocolate?"🔥
🤞🏼"I'm sure we'll be back" 💫
Anyone is welcome to come for a free taster to see if it suits you. ( 🗓️ Every other Friday 12:30-15:00)
Wonderful planning visit this morning to #PeaksCollege in preparation for a workshop I will run in June.
Thanks to Laura & Hanif for making it happen.
Best part was seeing some former students I used to work with shouting out, "We used to make fires and hot chocolate!"

We all need nature.
Huge thanks to the incredible staff at #RyegateHouse @sheffieldchildrens this morning. Your energy was a reminder of why I do this work. It was wonderful to run a forest school session with staff fully engaged and finding their own moments of sensory wonder all whilst ensuring the young people explored the garden to the max.
Today we had the wonders of:
Tying treasures such as beetroot leaves & rosemary to a journey stick 🧶
🌿 Finding out that yarrow makes a natural ointment🩹
✅ First taste of chives directly picked from the ground🧄
☕ Freshly brewed dandelion & lime tea 🍋🟩
🔨 Making joyful pictures using natural dyes 🌼
👀 Creating a natural broach with ladybirds on some lovely moss 🐞
(Since found out that a group of ladybirds is known as a "loveliness")

I support schools to develop and embed inclusive, high‑impact outdoor learning across mainstream and SEND provision. As a Forest School Leader and Specialist Leader in Education for autism, SEND & outdoor learning, I help staff implement programmes that strengthen engagement, regulation, and curriculum outcomes. This can be whole‑staff or small‑team training, bespoke sensory‑based intervention design, and short on‑site sessions tailored to your setting.
Some examples of what my offer can look like:
1. One‑hour TA confidence‑building session: Practical ideas for sensory breaks, such as sensory circuits in nature, supporting regulation and engagement.
2. Whole‑staff training: Introducing neurodivergent‑affirming approaches, sensory stories in nature, and strategies that enhance wellbeing for pupils and staff.
3. Small‑team or 1:1 intervention design: Bespoke sensory‑based outdoor interventions aligned with school priorities and learner needs.
