There was a season where I was so hard on myself. I felt like I was falling short everywhere. I’ve battled with being a night owl, and it took a toll on how present I could be at home. The guilt was real.
I work from home, so running my business means I often work late into the the early hours of the morning .
Then just when my kids get up to start preparing for school ,exhaustion catches up with me.
Of course, they are quite of age and can prepare simple meals and also take care of their youngest sibling and a few other things around the house. But still, that didn’t make me feel any better.
What’s changing for me now is understanding that as a mother , you wear many hats - and motherhood isn’t always about the traditional path.
It’s about giving myself grace while adapting and learning new ways to handle the same reality.
I became more intentional and found a way to navigate through every day struggles .
I got someone to do the cleaning, major cooking , refrigerate and ensure that every other thing they need is put in place.
I take frequent breaks AWAY from work, just to spend more time with my family.
This Mother’s Day, I’m celebrating me .
I’m in my season of grace and I mean it wholeheartedly! I’m showing up for myself more , giving myself a pat on the back , praising and clapping for myself when needed😁
To every mother out there, showing up everyday in their own unique way, I’m cheering you on . More strength and more celebration to you!
