I remember you sitting on a stool inside your shop and discussing it with someone. We had just returned from general hospital, ikeja (now
LASUTH) with the test results that hot afternoon...
Out of panick, the man said
“ Haa! Aisan awon omo ti o ki npe ku yen” (meaning the ailment of those children that die prematurely )
And you responded with “Olorun o ni je, omo temi o ni ku, ko ni run, Awo ye mi Maa wo, A d’iru, a d’igba fun mi. Gbogbo ona t’oba gba ni ma fi toju e, Olorun a de ba wa wo o. (God forbid! My child will not die but live . I will do everything within my means to take care of her. She shall live and she shall be great, let’s have faith in God)
The man left and never returned for over 30 yrs ...
Maami, you stood .
You personally and religiously ensured I take my routine drugs every single day for many years .. (even up till now you always ask if I take them regularly) .
You made several herbs for me to drink every time. You made sure that my blood level was never low. You became my personal doctor.
I got stronger and healthier that I rarely had crises and rarely visited the hospital, even the few times I did,doctors were always in awe till date, all thanks to God and you , Maami💔
