My first Grammy nominated record! I’m now officially a songwriter & producer on a Grammy Award nominated album. A huge thanks to Jesse Royal for allowing me to be a part of his album “No Place Like Home” which is nominated for "Best Reggae Album". Resharing from Adam Taylor who shot this music video 🎥 It’s been 10 years this month since the release of my video for Build A Kingdom by @iamsimonpipe . It was just the two of us on a whim down Cattlewash, a very simple thought, with a single take and a single shot on my iPhone, and edited the same day. We went on to win Best Music Video 2016 at the Barbados Visual Media Awards. Hardly anybody has seen the video, so I’m resharing it! It’s not perfect but it was magic and the time has gone pretty fast. You can listen to the song on all streaming services. Thank you for the love 🙏

Dominica is one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been, but it’s the people that made it unforgettable. Spent time here working on some new classical guitar instrumentals for the Quiet Path series and creating meditations for the @breathinginbath project. Both on the way. Grateful to @sheenaroseinc for making this trip possible and pushing me to finally go for it. Thank you to all of the wonderful Dominicans who made my time magical .

I said it was a big cast! 🤩There are moments in studio that you will always remember. This is one of them! I called in some of the most powerful voices in Barbados who also happen to be my music family. What i’ve been up to recently • Writing with Dan Caplen, Roro, and Chill Bill • Linking up with Pops, and writing/recording with Shontelle • Co-wrote and co-produced Dae’s new release “Caterpillar” • “Wasteman” with Perfect Giddimani & Yungg Trip out now (co-write/co-produce) • Recently interviewed for an upcoming documentary on songwriting • Writing and recording new music with Casheda Dottin • Recording new music with Krisirie • Tracked guitars for a batch of soca songs for the Crop Over season at Plata Studios • Released the first two EPs in the Quiet Path series - a body of classical guitar music I’m working on • Created a couple paintings for our living room • Spending time with fam - hikes around the island with Reggie and taking in some beautiful views Grateful for the process, the people, and the moments in between. September stuff: Performed at Mahalia’s Corner with Casheda Dottin and the incredible 2 Mile Hill band. We did the title track off my 2024 album “Just For Today” and i played the last couple songs with Cash and the band, including “Into You” which i co-produced off Casheda’s EP “Yearning”. Shontelle and i released a new single “I Am So Broken”. We’re excited to share this with you and we’re working on some new music too. In May a small group of Bajan artists went to Toronto for the music festival Departure led by an incredible team from the NCF. We did some interviews with Amazon Music Canada and those videos dropped this month. If you’re into Doom/Death/Psychedelic metal, check out “Seeking Sangha” on your favourite streaming platforms including YouTube. It’s a side project of mine, and we released a new song called “Tormented”. Empress Zingha’s reading corner is decorated with some of my lyrics and artwork. Very heart warming :) Performed at the Super Reggae concert for Carifesta. I’m really honoured to work with so many super talented people and we’ve always got lots more in store since it would appear that it’s impossible for me to ever sit still. Stay tuned. Today Shontelle and i want to share “I Am So Broken” with you. We hope it touches you and moves you like it has us. Back in March 2024, @shonny246 and i linked up to work on a project and after we’d finished composing and recording those pieces of music, she asked to hear what i’d been up to. So i started going thru some of the newer music i’d been working on, and i played two pieces i’d just written hooks to. “I Am So Broken” immediately resonated and we started writing. If you’ve ever written with Shontelle, you already know - genius level talent! We wrote and recorded the verses in about 45 minutes in my little bedroom studio, and i finished up the mix later that night. Shonny and i spoke earlier this week and i asked her if she minded me sharing the photos of us and her recording in my bedroom. I know sometimes artists want to be careful about crafting an image that appears “expensive”. I get it. I was told many years ago “This is show business. It’s the business of putting on a show.” I’ve never been good at that part. I’ve been authentic to my detriment many many times. Thankfully she’s with me all the way. “I just want to live life honestly and intentionally. I don’t want to be all smoke and mirrors. I’m not here to sell fake shit to people.” Amen my friend. So this is us. Raw, uncut, authentic - “torn open”
