In countdown to my debut EP ‘Everyone’s Getting That Fever’ coming out (May 26) I thought I would share some things about the songs on it and what they mean to me. The first song is called ‘Can Someone Win Already?’ and I wrote it in May of 2025. It is a rather existential and enigmatic song that discusses my internal and mental brawl between irrational anxiety and logic. The song contains lots of symbols of weather and seasons which serve to represent general change and natural advancing of time. In a deeper sense, I talk about my concern that this mental brawl will affect those around me and how I wouldn’t wish this experience on others. I wrote this at a time where I was experiencing a lot of anxiety about a particular experience but was also sortve healing and coming out of it. I was getting so fed up with the constant battle and just wished that one of the two sides of my brain would just ‘win’. The voice memo shows u the very first draft of mr @zahariasmusic and I writing the song and I am so excited for u to hear how much it developed from there. ‘Everyone’s Getting That Fever’. May 26. This Again is out on all streaming platforms NOW (link in bio)!! I love this song so much and I hope you do too! It’s a bit more poppy and fun than the last one but it still has the authentic LUBBY vibe that I try bring into all my work! This song is a bittersweet track about reminiscing on the ‘prime’ of my youth. Talking about how innocent and naive I was and how little cares I had. Yearn and notalgia are the main vibes. I wanted this song to make you feel like you sre 17 years old again, on a roadtrip with your best friends, driving at sunset with your head out the skylight and the wind blowing your hair. However, in a somewhat melancholic way, the song describes my epiphany that it will never be “this again”. So what are you waiting for? GO LISTEN!! GO GO GO!
