What got you here won’t get you there. 💫 As we step into the new year, I am reminded of this. I know a lot of you deep down probably realize that you may just be the problem and the solution in your life. 💫 That real realization changed everything for me. As I step into this new year, I recognize that I will continue to evolve. My wish for each of you is that you find conscious connections, habitual joy, a heart full of gratitude and a soul filled with love. 💜💫
It took my entire life to learn that motivation gets all of the hype, but discipline is what actually changes your life.
I now know that motivation comes and goes. Discipline is a decision that shows up on the days that you’re tired, busy, bored, or not inspired.
One book that truly changed my life is Atomic Habits by @jamesclear . It taught me to stop chasing goals and start building systems. Small, consistent choices add up to big change 📚✨
If you’re on a health, weight loss, or self-growth journey, I also recommend:
• The Mountain Is You by Brianna Wiest
• Tiny Habits by BJ Fogg
• Mindset by Carol Dweck 💭💪

Each year I have the honor of co-hosting the Mayor’s Black Pride Reception. I do not take that for granted, especially now when across this country everything from DEI to LGBTQ rights is under attack. I am proud to live in my hometown of Atlanta, once coined “the city too busy to hate.” That spirit starts at the top, and @andreforatlanta has ensured that our city continues to live up to that promise.
Much love to our new Director of LGBTQ Affairs @dewayneq , and congratulations to our honorees. The phenomenal @queer_nik , along with @sosobrat and @darealbbjudy , remind us of the brilliance and influence within our community. Deep gratitude to @rashadburgess and @gileadsciences for always investing in our community. And of course, kudos to @candacestanciel for her leadership, along with the many hands behind the scenes who made this beautiful event possible.

A full circle moment at the Pink Awards last night. I’ve known @askaprillove for years from my time in the entertainment industry, so to be honored by her in this chapter of my life felt deeply meaningful.
Knowing her journey as a breast cancer survivor, and the strength she carries into every room, made this recognition land in a different way. To receive the Samaritan Award for my work in health equity with @blkwomenshealth , surrounded by a sisterhood of survivors and thrivers, was powerful.
Nights like this make me so grateful for the pivot… for the remix. Thankfully, the journey didn’t break me, it refined me and I can’t wait to see what’s next. #pinkawards2026
I have traveled across the country with this little film of ours and every city gives me something different. 💜 But Boston was truly exceptional. 🥹🥹 These young people showed up and turned into the stars of the day with their curiosity and excitement. Thank you you to @bostonmedicalcenter@healthyboston@hologic@wburcityspace and everyone who brought this amazing event together. @drnoelmdmph we did it!! #meperiod
Now THIS is a win for the city! Welcome to Atlanta, @angel.reese . I’ve seen firsthand how she shows up for young women, speaking life, confidence, and knowledge into them around their health and their futures. And we all know what a phenomenal player she is! 🙌🏾🙌🏾 @atlantadream #angelreese #atlantadream
Happy 404 Day!! As a native, Atlanta holds a special place in my heart.
Some of my favorite stats…
I’m a Grady baby, adopted with love by a family who traveled here from the north to find their forever home. I once stood on a TedX stage and told that story full circle.
I built a career in entertainment right here, working with over 1000 recording artists. I was on set when Xscape was just kicking it and TLC had us all asking, “what about your friends?” 🤯💜
And in this same city, I reinvented myself… stepping into purpose and being honored to serve on advisory boards for two mayors.
Atlanta didn’t just raise me. It revealed me.
404… this is home.
LONG POST! Looking at these pictures brought tears to my eyes. And not because the night wasn’t filled with joy…because it was.
A few nights ago, I sat in this room full of extraordinary women. I was celebrated, and truly seen.
I remember the younger version of myself who prayed I would one day be able to show up as my full self. And I can’t help but think… someone could have planted a very different message in me.
What if someone had gotten to me before I found myself? What if I had believed them? Would I have even made it to that room?
I am so grateful for the woman I’ve become. And my commitment to protect the right for every woman to become herself, fully and unapologetically.
Thank you to the beautiful souls who curated this space so intentionally. To @scenebysatchel for always operating in excellence, to our incredible host @thandipourscocktails , and the exquisite @hotelphoenixatl for setting the most beautiful stage. And @armanddebrignac for sponsoring a night that made every woman in that room feel seen and celebrated. @cindafreknrella , you are a gem.
And as Women’s History Month comes to a close, I’m reminded that the real work is making sure the next generation doesn’t have to question if they belong in the room.
They do.
