The 4th Edition Black History Month Celebration in partnership with
@sheamoistureca 🤎
What started as a passing thought in 2022, during the stillness of my postpartum months, has now reached its fourth year. And that alone feels mind-blowing.
This celebration is deeply rooted for me. It’s more than an event, it’s culture, it’s visibility, it’s belonging. I remember attending events and barely seeing representation of myself. The big brands weren’t celebrating women who looked like me. So I laid the table. I created the space for us.
This year, we celebrated Black women in all their forms, in their entirety, soft, powerful, creative, ambitious, evolving. The room reflected us fully. From 30 guests at our first edition to welcoming 50 phenomenal women this year… the love felt in that space was undeniable. And it lingers. Days later. Weeks later, it’s a powerful testament.
Sometimes I still can’t believe these women (sisters) show up year after year for this celebration. I don’t think I fully understood how significant it would become. There are moments where I almost don’t want to believe I founded it, because it feels so much bigger than me, but imposter syndrome is just going to have to eat me up.
These photos don’t even begin to sum up the night, just a snippet. Head to the BHM tab to see the stories, the outfits, the magic. Thank you for all the love already from so many of you.
Thank you
@sheamoistureca for believing in me for another year, without you it would not be possible, thank you for showing up for Black Women 365 days a year.
@langtonpr you guys are amazing, thank you for streamlining this event, even when the postpartum dragon came to play 🤣.
Thank you
@osatoerebor and
@jodianne.beckford for capturing the night impeccably. ❤️❤️❤️
And to the every woman in that room, without you there is no celebration, I have gained 50 sisters and I’m grateful for every one of you.
What will the 5th anniversary bring 🫣🤭😉.
