Essence’s Betrayal of Black Women: A Call for Solidarity and Accountability
We talk about our disappointment in Essence, a magazine built by Black women, for not standing with the Black community when we needed them the most during the Target DEI controversy. We discuss the importance of boycotts and the need for solidarity among Black women, and express our frustration that Essence did not fight alongside us when we were in the trenches. We call on Essence to do better and live up to the values they have preached to us for years.
