For @i.careth , motherhood and ultra running share more than meets the eye. Both ask for presence, resilience, and a willingness to adapt along the way. A reflection on movement, motherhood, and meeting yourself where you are. Video — @tonywithasony

What does it mean to be a mother? The first thing that comes to mind is unconditional love. As soon as my first child was born, it hit me with a zealous passion deep in my soul. This was a love I had yet to experience; it was a life-giving love—unconditional, patient, kind, fierce, and all-consuming. Yes, there are definitely moments when this love does not come easily. I am human, selfish, and far from a perfect mother. But God knows I try, and I am better for it. Please kiss your momma back this Mother’s Day—I sure wish I could kiss mine. Tell her you love her, even when she is frustrating in all her imperfections. Love sees past all of it. 🫶🏼 Thank you @somerrunner for capturing this moment at the Canyons 100k finish line! #happymothersday #kisses #motherlylove

Let’s recap my nutrition at the Canyons 100k this past weekend. I don’t normally talk about my race nutrition because I historically haven’t been great at it. But I think I’m starting to get it right. 🙃 Lately I’ve been loving the Näak Boost line of gels and hydration mix. I couldn’t have done it without an average of 60grams of carbs/hour consumed through 12 boost neutral gels, multiple flasks of boost hydration mix, 3 peach tea caffeinated gels, and an awesome squad who made sure I had what I needed when I needed it. One of my main goals for this race was to fuel well. I have historically struggled to consume adequate carbs in the back half of my races. But this past training block I put the effort in to train my gut to be more consistent with nutrition consumption and fuel my runs sufficiently. I felt so fly. Thankful for näakbars for helping me fuel my ultra! 🫶🏼😋 #nutrition #FuelYourUltra #Canyons100k #näak #sportsnutrition

CARETH ARNOLD — CERTIFIED BEAST Last year’s TDS champion brings home a strong runner up in today’s Canyons 100k. Leading early, Careth fought through a tough final 20 miles to bring home a proud 2nd place. Importantly, Careth DECLINED the Golden Ticket to Western States and will instead focus on Hardrock. We are on roll-down watch. 👀 Congrats, Careth! 📸: @ryanthrower #TrailCulture #canyons100k

Had a blast running hill repeats with the RUFA community in Moab. It was such a fun, beautiful, and challenging event. A solid test of fitness that helped build back my confidence after a rough first quarter of the year dealing with a revolving door of sickness. It was great seeing familiar faces and a showing of strong mommas @leah_yingling and @rachelraedrake ! So amazing. 🤩 Special thank to @shitinthewoods for not only capturing the moments but bringing out their glory and grit. 📸👌🏻 @runningupforair #stayoutthere #moab #rufa #TeamAltra #runstrong motherrunner

Inspired by a legendary journey to Iceland, the Frozen Coast Collection explores the raw connection between earth and human. Shot by @chrisburkard , we followed @i.careth as she embraced the unknown of the icy waters and rugged trails of eastern Iceland.

Careth Arnold is the 9th ranked woman for 2025 UROY. She became the first American to win TDS at UTMB, completing the challenging 95-mile course through the Italian and French Alps in just under 23 hours. Following her TDS victory, Arnold won the Hurricane 100k in West Virginia just 10 days later. Earlier in the summer, she placed second at the High Lonesome 100 in Colorado and also competed at the Canyons 100k, finishing fifth. UROY 2025 is sponsored by @TopoAthletic 📸 @altrarunning #uroy9 #uroy2025 #ultrarunnersoftheyear

There are days when everything aligns: effort, terrain, and timing. In 2025, @i.careth faced TDS, one of the most demanding and technical ultra-trail races in the world. From the first step to the final kilometer, she moved with focus, strength, and determination, navigating every climb, descent, and challenge the course presented. By the end, she claimed victory in a race that tests every aspect of an athlete, physical, mental, and emotional. This was more than a win. It was a demonstration of what happens when preparation, presence, and courage come together in perfect harmony. Careth’s performance at TDS is a reminder that excellence isn’t given, it’s earned, step by step, moment by moment. In 2025, she showed the trail-running world the power of belief, perseverance, and showing up fully, even when the mountains demand everything. #ultratrail #fuelyourultra

Thailand holds space in my heart. It’s my country of birth and where I spent the first 15 years of life. I chose to race here the last couple years because it’s a homecoming of sorts. A journey that reminds me of my childhood. I have lived multiple lives since then and never thought I would be back 20 years later as an athlete racing 160+ km through the northern hill country. This race was the most challenging of the year. A solid ending to the season. The course is diverse and makes me think of adventure racing at times with its relentless presentation of obstacles. I traveled out a day before the start, crew less, not rested, but ready to go. And I went, until my body began to protest. I found my limits during this race and preserved with every last drop of my being- dynamite exploding in the pain cave. I lost significant time to the first woman in the back third due to the inability to descend quickly, but found victory in every step. I am a better athlete for it and have gleaned once again from my mistakes and will adapt. I am stoaked to have overcome such a journey at the end of a big season. Looking forward to bigger challenges to come, 2026 baby!! 👀🏔️ A special thank you to those who support me. @altrarunning @ultraspire @naakbars @nblaes Y’all da best. A weekend spent camping with the family in Moab- I jumped into the Dead Horse 50k last minute to see how my legs would turnover in the middle of a big training block. Overall felt strong- enjoyed the red earth, slick rock, sunshine, and race community. My goal was to run a fast yet moderate race to insure I had some legs for my long run the next day. Content with the results- brick by brick we build. 💪😊 3:56 F1 and 9th OA #TeamAltra #motherrunner #FuelYourUltra #inspiredbyathletes #graceandgrit #deadhorseultra #moab
