My friend Maria McCloy YOU lived one remarkable life. From the day we met back in Norwood nearly 30 years ago, Maria YOU were already that girl. While you were building Black Rage | Outrageous Records with Thuli and Dzino, B and I had Eargasm Records | Entertainment starting up in our bedroom, YOU inspired us. YOU were independent, fearless, hardworking and always rooting for others even from back then. YOU were everybody’s biggest supporter, like literally everyone. YOU even championed people YOU didn’t know well. From comparing notes on what our PR rates are, to talking about having RA’s as creatives over this past weekend, YOU remained the same genuine soul throughout our 3 decade long friendship. YOUR endless invites to events via Whatsapp every single week, YOUR constant requests for posters of events I am working on so YOU could promote it, us comparing notes of Phi’s whereabouts 🤣, all which will sorely be missed sis. YOUR love for people, music, culture, and community — that is Maria. How many careers did YOU help launch in this country? How many people did she uplift just because YOU believed in them? YOU made people feel seen! As much as I thought I gave YOU your flowers when you were in this realm, I don’t think I truly understood the size of your impact until right now. Maria, YOU are amazing. You entertained us, supported us, inspired us, dressed us and loved us all loudly. Maria McCloy YOU will be deeply missed. I love YOU and I will miss YOU always and forever. And until we meet again on the other side, have fun with Lebo, see u two when its my time…

Celebrating Mother’s Day today ALONE while the bundles of joy are at school. • Went shopping and got new PJs and undies (medium nogal, goodbye XL ones). Obviously got them all new PJs also. • Took myself out for an awesome seafood lunch. • Got some groceries I like and wanted, nothing for them buggers • Had some morning tea in the garden Its 3pm now so time up. Had the privilege of seeing the highly anticipated MICHAEL movie on the new IMAX cinema at @SterKinekor in the Zone. It was indeed completely immersive IMAX Experience I ain’t no movie critic but movie was a 9/10, with @weezithegr8 and I singing along, dancing in our seats, guessing the next song and crying a-lot. A must see for the whole family.
