You can plan all you want, but I’ve learned that the lines always fall into place as they must. And oh, what a journey it’s been!
After our milestone win at #IATF2025, ALEC is finally taking shape. This may not be the exact announcement I once imagined, BUT it’s the one I’m proud to stand behind.
So allow me to re-introduce myself: I’m Sasha P, and I am in my convener era. After years of building, curating, and contributing to the African entertainment industry, the countdown to ALEC 2026 has officially begun.
In the weeks ahead, I’ll share my own “yellow brick road” the lessons, the highs, and the realities of building something bigger than myself.
But first ,I’d like to invite every live entertainment professional, dreamer, and doer to join our virtual gathering, THE PRELUDE, on October 22,2025.
This is our first step, and I can’t wait to have you in the room (virtually) as we open this journey.

My father passed away when I was 6 years old, and one of my most cherished memories of him is at a birthday party he hosted for his best friend Chief Olu Falae- just a month prior, at our home.
Young SP, somehow managed to get close enough to Sir Tunji Oyelana's band and 'happened' upon a MIC 😅 then proceeded to sing "Cool rider" from Grease 2 as incoherently as you can imagine.
You know Nigerian Aunties and Uncles weren't having it 🤣 as someone finally wrestled the mic from me, my dad said loudly - "No, Clap for her" ( we actually had this on VHS tape but someone lost a lot of my documentary files- story for another day)
Anyway, I'm sharing this to say to everyone that listens to all my seemingly "incoherent" dreams and cheers me on, supports me, sponsors me, puts in a good word for me, makes time for me, advises me, petitions God on my behalf ( Mi Madre's daily mission), roots for me, congratulates me- THANK YOU!
You are all a reminder of my father's unapologetic protectiveness of my dreams. This is by no means an extensive list of my entire village, so apologies in advance for 20 tags 🙏🏽
@afrieximbank@creativeafricanexus Thank you for CLAPPING FOR ME 💜🔥
P.S. I travelled to network and won first place in the Canex@ #IATF2025 SME pitch session in Algeria for my pitch - From Barriers to Bridges: Building Africa's creative backbone...Watch this space!

We say we want structure in African touring — but are we paying attention when the experiments happen?
Over the past few months, I’ve followed the progress of llona’s 'Homeless' tour — and the determination of a small but mighty team making it all happen.
It wasn’t perfect. But it was intentional.
Most importantly, it was repeatable.
There’s something to be said for artists and teams who are bold enough to move — even when the infrastructure isn’t fully there. They are laying bricks, they are writing their own story. They deserve a standing Ovation!
For me, this was more than a tour. It was a signal, and I am more convinced than ever....IT'S TIME!
P.s. Are hashtags still a thing? 😃

I just delivered a "Dream Baby" and even though I have not experienced what it is to birth a child, I can't help feeling that this comes pretty close!
I felt heavy, hopeful. triggered, Joyous, apprehensive, excited, overwhelmed, loved, abandoned, loving, emotional, grateful, drained, in awe and the physical after effects I can not even describe.
I've been THROUGH IT but I wouldn't change a single thing. On the other side of every fear is what you can truly become - I am FEARLESS, incredibly proud of myself and I LOVE it here 💜

Growth in live entertainment does not happen by chance. It is built through structure, collaboration, and long-term thinking across the ecosystem.
From touring and production to investment and partnerships, these are the elements shaping what the future of the industry can look like across Africa.
ALEC brings these conversations into one space, with the people actively working to move the industry forward.
For years, we’ve talked about the gaps in Africa’s live entertainment industry.
Now we’re building the room to solve them.
𝐈𝐧 𝟏𝟑 𝐝𝐚𝐲𝐬, 𝐢𝐭 𝐛𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐬.

The people. The ideas. The execution.

Honored to receive this 💜
Congratulations to all the other honorees ,it’s a privilege to be in such powerful company.
Thank you @pollstar_official
Grateful for the journey, and even more excited for the work ahead.
The journey to ALEC has been a lesson in resilience.
Building something new often means explaining it long before people fully see it.
Maybe the real work isn’t the idea.
But the patience required to keep helping others understand the idea.
To everyone currently building something, it will all make sense!

YOU call me by my name 🙏🏽
Let me tell you a story, maybe you have heard it before but for the benefit of those who have not, I will say it again.
I started exploring my passion for Hip Hop with my family friends and we would call ourselves the "OB CREW" Everyone had a rap/stage name at the time and I hadn't quite figured out what mine was, I called myself by a name I made up for the poetry I would write at the time.
Then, one afternoon, I was tired and wanted to take a nap, but for some reason, I kept tossing and turning, and then I started to hear a faint whisper "SASHA". I ignored it, and it started sounding a bit more urgent, so I grabbed my poem book and wrote the name down, and after that, I fell asleep. The next time I was asked what my stage name would be, I said, " Sasha."
Years later, I realised that it was actually a diminutive of one of my many given names - Alexzandra. On many occasions people questioned why I chose a " foreign" name, why it did not sound more African and why I refused to change it, the answer has always been the same - it was given to me and it feels more like my name than any other name I have ever been called by.
At times, I toy with " redefining " myself, but God does that all by HIMSELF. When he desires, he ensures that I am called Anthonia, but most times, it's Sasha. In fact, I often have a very strong reaction to people who choose to call me otherwise.
I say all this to say- like, really, who am I that YOU are so mindful of me, LORD? I am grateful for everything that led to me being able to hear this prophecy today. Thank you to my Aunty and my sis for holding space for me and standing on the Lord's promise concerning my life. I am far from perfect, but I am aware that there is a call on my life- May I be found worthy.
THANK YOU, Pastor Nathaniel - this word is for ME - a word in season, and I receive it and honour it by the precious blood of JESUS. Amen and AMEN 🙏🏽
JESUS IS LORD, AND THIS IS MY TESTIMONY.
