Back in the early part of my career, I used to animate funny little 2D stories, so this was a fun way to reconnect with those roots. I designed, drew, and animated this piece in Adobe Animate, then finished it in After Effects.

With many of these paint sketches, I just see shapes on the canvas and start drawing. I start discovering the vision as it comes together. I guess it's kind of like organized doodling.
It's a challenge for me, because in most of my professional work, I have specific intent, and know what I'm creating before I start. These are kind of fun because they're a bit of a surprise as they come together.
