Congratulations to filmmaker Todd J. Robertson for winning a Pele Award for the PBS Hawaiʻi Presents film, “Vanishing Voices: Saving Our Hawaiian Forest Birds.” 👏
The Pele Awards is one of 15 National District Competitions for the American Advertising Awards, also known as the ADDYs.
“Vanishing Voices” is about the threat of extinction that several species of forest birds found only in Hawaiʻi are facing due to avian diseases carried by invasive mosquitos. The film also covers the multi-agency effort to not only protect more native bird species from ending up on the extinction list but also to preserve the balance of Hawaiʻi’s ecosystems.
