We had a great time connecting with different team at Ascent and we can’t wait to dance more with the DMV community at our amazing two classes coming up with Marely & Vincent! Since joining HCF in Spring 2023, Marely has brought energy, culture, and creativity to every space she steps into. With roots in @uk_101 during her college years and experience in multiple projecy groups. her journey is as dynamic as her movement. Trained across a range of Latino styles, uncluding salsa, merengue, bachata, cumbia, bomba y plane (to name a few) in both Puerto Rico and Cuba- Marely blends tradition with innovation. Her signature style fuzzes these rich cultural influences with hip hop, creating a fresh, high-energy genre you won’t want to miss.

Vincent Jameson is from La Plata Maryland. His dance journey started with freestyling and watching different videos to help develop my own movement. He was self-taught for most of his life but decided that he wanted to join a dance group to experience community and to be able to meet new people through dance. He joined @futureshockdc where he learned the foundations of Hip hop and the art of choreography. Dance for him is not just a multitude of steps but it is something that he uses to help him express myself. He believes that each movement that he creates has a purpose and he wants to be able to share that with others. He tries his best to connect dance with his faith to help create a stronger purpose for the reason behind why he dances. Dance is something that he not only use to express himself but to share his story/testimony.

See what it’s like to perform in the round with a standing room audience hyping your group up from all corners of the room. The Space Soirée is here to challenge all of the visionaries and dance creators in the DMV to design immersive performances for this unique stage experience. Let’s give it up for Manjur!! Though he’s no longer active on HCF, that doesn’t stop him from returning to Velocity to dance with his team! You can see why he was a former creative director with those groovy steps. Though it was a push, everyone was having too much fun for sure.
