A couple weeks ago I had the chance to participate in and help construct two installations at the Venice Biennale (@labiennale ). One with Zhicheng Xu (@z_doing_things ) with @ricearch and the second, a collaboration between @mit & @ethzurich with the Chair of Circular Engineering for Architecture (@catherinedewolf ) and many more. If you find yourself in Venice this year, make sure to see VAMO & Weaving Ecologies in the Plantationocene!

We are pleased to announce our 2024 Interdisciplinary Residents, Botanical Artists in Residence, and Fellows! For our Interdisciplinary Residency, individuals of disciplines ranging from research, visual arts, literature, history, and design will visit Oak Spring for a duration of five weeks or two weeks at various times throughout the calendar year. During their time, they have the opportunity to dedicate themselves to their selected discipline, utilizing the Oak Spring Garden Library and studio spaces alongside other residents to facilitate community building and camaraderie. Our Botanical Artists in Residence (last slide) are invited to use material from the formal garden at Oak Spring or from the broader 700-acre landscape for their work. At the culmination of the residency, each artist has the option to sell the foundation a completed piece, which is then accessioned into the Oak Spring Library as a contribution to the developing Oak Spring Florilegium. Our fellowships include the Eliza Moore Fellowship for Artistic Excellence, Stacy Lloyd III Fellowship for Bibliographic Study, Fellowship in Plant Science Research, and Fellowship in Plant Conservation Biology. Similar to our residents, fellows have the opportunity to utilize the resources of Oak Spring to further their research and interests (slide 6). View each cohort and learn more about our 2024 residents and fellows by visiting the link in our bio. #oakspringgardenfoundation #oakspring #osgf #residents #residency #artresidency #artists #fellows #research #interdisciplinary #cohort #botanicalart

“We started two and half years ago with the mission to, through arts and architecture at Fly Ranch, mediate the tension between humans and non-human species, as well as the Land’s transiency and a city’s permanency.” The LAGI 2020 Fly Ranch design challenge top team @lodgers_collective has released their annual progress report for 2022, featuring their prototype exhibitions at @mitarchitecture and @trienaldelisboa . We’re excited to bring @moooonnie , @z_doing_things , and the full scale Lodgers project to Fly Ranch in the near future. Find the full report ➡️ bio. @_gri.d @jgbrearley @artsatmit ❤️🔥

Our UHA Lisbon team, accompanied by Founding Director @uptonhansenjonas , visited the Multiplicity and Visionaries exhibitions at this year's @trienaldelisboa . Exhibits spanned social intervention and public space, to utopic planetary strategies, based around the theme 'Terra'. Co-curated by Cristina Veríssimo and @diogo.burnay , Terra spanned 5 exhibitions in 5 locations, and was a promulgation for cities-as-organisms.
