Thank you to all who joined us and @hyefrequencies on Friday to commemorate the 111th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. Though April 24 marks a day of mourning in our community, we wanted to create an intimate space to share music and celebrate our achievements as a community—all of which are a byproduct of the survival of our ancestors.
Hye Frequencies and Garod Collective invites you to a collective listening session in rememberance of the Armenian Genocide on its 111th anniversary.
Join us for a night of communal gathering, commemoration and exploration of the sonic archive of Armenian sounds in honor of this important date.
While we will be pulling from our archives, bringing your own Armenian records and cassettes is highly encouraged.

Teeyam is a first-generation Iranian-American and a recent Philly transplant with roots in the vibrant music scene of San Francisco & New York. He is recognized for his life-long dedication to DJing and his exceptional skills as a curator. Drawing inspiration from his love for cinema, Teeyam’s DJ sets are captivating journeys that traverse through zones of brooding psychedelia, techno, electro, breaks, acid and wave. He has an uncanny ability to weave together unique soundbites and samples, creating a sonic tapestry that captivates audiences and keeps them spellbound on the dancefloor. His sets are not confined to the familiar; instead, they explore the fringes of dance music, pushing the boundaries of sound with an unhinged groove that leaves no foot unshaken.
Teeyam has established himself as an integral figure in the electronic scene, having made his mark in San Francisco, New York, and Philly. He is a frequent guest on the illustrious Lot Radio and the founder of several event series, including “They’re Here” in SF and “House of Baba” in NY. Erick Nidal is a Palestinian DJ splitting his time between New York and Bangkok. Inspired by his upbringing in Chicago and New York, he honors the tradition of harnessing deep, soulful music and dance as tools for building communal, spiritual, and ancestral connections. Starting off dancing across New York’s underground, Erick found renaissance in house music’s communal, experimental, and sacred lineage. This inspired him to DJ: putting his record collection to use in hopes he could help other people feel the way the music makes him feel, and bring the kinds of people into others’ lives that it has. Through his unique breadth of exposure to nightlife’s birthplaces, he works to steward the essence of dance music through a unique respect for its origins while honoring its radical traditions of experimentation and unconvention.
Erick is currently a resident of @radioalhara , where his show Soul Fortis | صوت الروح combines music, spoken word poetry, political education, and the natural world to trace the lineage sounds as a medium of human resistance.
